ICS for the Sprint Evo 3d.

So far I'm liking the update, although taking the WiFi switch out of the pulldown menu is VERY annoying. It seems much faster, and I'm finally able to run Stitcher without it sucking up my entire CPU (I had been stuck using Stitcher with my iPod Touch instead and so was limited by WiFi).

That being said, I think the damage by Sprint has already been done. To me, the trust factor is gone. I can no longer trust them to get things out on time to the most people. And even though I'm in a city with WiMax (Pittsburgh), I've heard the kvetching from elsewhere and can't help but feel sorry for them. When I visit home in FL and complain about the horrible signal, all Sprint does is say, "Well, the map says..." Add in my girlfriend begging me to switch to Verizon (because her phone bill is getting to be a bit big), which I can't do until next June, and you create the perfect set of circumstances for jumping ship.

update your apps if you like, but really all you have to do is make sure its plugged in to a power source. I would also make sure your contacts, calenders, music, etc are backed up with google (or w/e you use), just in case the update craps on your phone for some reason.

Kind of a newbie question, but how do you backup contacts and calendars?

Go get the wifi switch widget. It with all the widgets. Also,, check out the new folders. Drag one icon into another and instead of seeing a ugly folder, you see a box with both icons visible,, it's pretty cool.

I have one of the built-in widgets for the homepage. I'm just annoyed I can't switch it off from the pulldown menu.

Anyone else having issues with not receiving twitter notifications? I get direct messaged and mentioned, and there's no notification to my phone whatsoever

Are those icons at the bottom of the homescreen permanent? They're the phone icon, mail, "All Apps", messages, and camera..?

I have those icons already on the home screen above them, so currently I'm wasting space. I guess if they're permanent I'll have to pick some new ones.

Thanks.

You should be able to switch them,, try long press and drag.

I did switch out generic email and camera for my upgraded versions with no problem.

OK, I have a question. Is there a tutorial or "how to" some place to show all the features ICS brings to the HTC EVO 3D. Because some of the sites I have gone to, show a different phone and how it works on that phone. Their screen is different than the one on the HTC EVO 3D. I've checked the HTC website and the Sprint website and neither of them have updated to show the ICS update and what it does and how things work on it. Anybody?

Maybe go to YouTube and search for sense 3.6 videos.

I didn't mean change or switch out those icons... I just meant can I remove that bottom row of icons that I mentioned? Or are those permanently there, though I can change what they are?

You can't remove the row but yes, you can change them.

just got the OTA DL, rebooting now!

Late!

Lol good I think the more people get it the more it might make Sprint understand we should be considered for updates instead of running our patience until we give in and buy a new phone.

A moment of silence for those who didn't make it and bought into the new phones :sly:

Anyone else having the issue of the WIFI not staying on after the screen times out? I have to constantly turn WIFI off then back on in order to make it work. Extremely annoying.
