Ics live on verizon

My update occurred today and so far so good. Only complaint I have is the notification options. I don't like only having one sound for everything - I miss being able to set different tone notifications for mail and messages.

Can't you go into each app and choose the ringtone you want? I'll double check when I get home, but I think you can.

You should be able to still change them, but try shutting down and re-starting first. When I did the OTA I was amazed that my wallpaper stayed the same, and my home screens MOSTLY stayed the same (about four icons disappeared), but my ringtones had changed. However, I pulled down a couple of unrelated updates off Play The Android Market, and rebooted and my ringtones came back.

I'm looking, it looks like text message notification is (and I don't remember how it was in Gingerbread): With the messaging app open, Menu>Settings>Notifications>Notification Sound

For the other notifications, from the home screen, Menu>Settings>Sound and set your default notification sound, but the above will override that one for a custom one for text messages.

For calendar reminders, open the Calendar app then Menu>Settings>Select ringtone

For the clock alarms, it's under each alarm time/day/etc. setting

I use one ringtone for everyone, except Mrs. Unobtanium, a separate sound for texts and another for e-mails, another for calendar reminders, and then another for the clock alarms.

Are you kidding? I've had the thunderbolt a couple of phones ago and now I have the Note II. Believe me this thing is a beast and the thunderbolt is a joke in comparison. By the way my wife still has my thunderbolt. The amount of difference in speed is like going back to 3G.

LOL well some of us have been keeping the Bolt on 3G just to save battery life so...:D

can't wait to get the Note 2 next month
