ICS Update for the Nexus S 4G Discussion Thread

The big tech sites are not going to care. You are a very vocal minority, nothing more nothing less. As far as they're concerned you don't exist and your issue isn't valid.

Btw; a petition? Really? People in places like Syria are being murdered in cold blood every single day and you have a petition because your phone doesn't have the latest and greatest OS update?

Really I wonder why Engadget wrote this back to my e-mail that I sent them containing all the info in my last post.

It perplexes us too Petrochemicals.

Discussing internally if we want to do an editorial and / or reach out to Google.

Thanks for writing in!

Still no ICS for the AT&T Nexus S and the Sprint Nexus S 4G and it's been 3 months. Not a single word spoken by Google on the issue.

Four sites have written articles on it.

Androids G+ page has been spammed about it for 3 weeks now.

Sprints official Nexus S forums first two post for the last 3 months have been about it.

There is a petition about it.

And last but not least Google's very own Android help forums have over 30 threads on the subject with thousands of posts. Not a single one replied to by Google.

I received that e-mail at 8:17 p.m. and then an article on the Nexus S appears at 11:29 p.m. So is it really any wonder that they now have this article http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/15/...-nexus-s-in-the-next-few-weeks/#disqus_thread a couple hours after my e-mail conversation with them? They obviously contacted Google as they stated they would and received a reply that it will be in a couple weeks. To stay loose on the date they did not quote Google on this.

It's a good thing you put this in perspective with that Syria stuff. I mean, really who on earth has the right to ask for companies to respect consumer rights when there is murder going on. The companies should be allowed to do whatever they want everyone, murder is taking place somewhere and that is more important.

People who want the iPhone don't care about software. They just want the iPhone. They don't say to themselves p hey the ns4g has ice cream. Forget the iPhone.

Sorry, I should have included '/sarcasm'. The guy commenting just before me said that it was due to the iPhone, so I was pointing out that WE are not even likely to buy the GN because we flash our phones, but sure... we are likely to buy the iPhone?!! I don't think so. I will try to make it clear in the future when I am being sarcastic.

Thanks for the post, welcome to the forums.

But every single one of those stupid ice cream puns in this article makes me want to punch someone. Hard. Really hard.

Seriously, it's just grating.

In other news, yeah, Engadget says it's coming soon according to their source...but so did Android Police's source. We all know how that went.

March only has 2 more weeks in it then we're into April. A "few" usually means "about three" since a "couple" is two.

I'm not updating my posts in my sig until something actually official comes. I'd just chalk this up as a rumor but don't get discouraged anyway. Google sure as hell can't leave the Galaxy Nexus the way it is and they WILL give it something. If it's 4.0.4 (which it most likely will be), then at LEAST the Nexus S 4G will receive it as well.

So...you know. There's that.

Plus, Nexus phones always tend to suck when they release and just get better later (where as most non-Nexus phones start out better but suck later). We're still good.

What 'right' is being broken? Please point it out so you can prove you're not just a pot-stirrer looking to rile these guys up.

And I'll reiterate: the tech sites don't care. They have more important things to worry about than you guys

You might want to read up about false advertising and your consumer rights (the right being broken). Consumer Rights Regarding False Advertising | eHow.com

Google is falsely advertising the Nexus S 4G as "users will be the first to receive software upgrades". Nexus S 4G from Google ?€“ Android Device Gallery

The NS4G has not been the first to receive the ICS "software upgrade" by a long shot.

As for your comment about tech sites not caring. Why is it that it only took one email to Engadget and then they wrote an article on it within hours? Sounds to me this is the exact opposite of your claim, which was proven in my last post.

In the future if you are going to argue with someone it is helpful if you actually read what they say.

And thus the never ended argument of when an update is coming or not turns into personal attacks! Its your fault there is no update! No its yours! Well your illegally telling the truth.

I hope no one in here starts with the terrible ice cream puns once the update finally does come. :|

They're very unfunny. :P

It will only if you checked the auto reboot box
