ICS Update of Nexus S

Good to know GP.

How did you manage to resolve the problem?

Thanks

I had the same problem !!
Thanks
GP

Hey guys,
Just joined the forum, so please forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong place!
I have an unrooted Nexus S, bought in the UK without contract.
Yesterday, I got the System Update icon and clicking it told me that an ICS update was available for download. However, I was out at the time so didn't want to download right then and pressed Back.
Now, the System Update icon has gone and when i go to Settings --> About Phone --> System Updates, it tells me that my system is up to date.
Any idea how I get the update back!?
Thanks,
hbc

i had the update yesterday, and had the same problems. really sluggish etc. i checked available RAM and there was none. where as my nexus s had been fine on GB. i've virtually deleted half my apps to get it working again but should i do a factory reset??

or any other ideas??

I definitely recommend the factory reset if your phone is sluggish.

I'm having issues with Android File Transfer, gives me "No Android device found" even though it's connected.

@gfusato @hbc9999 I know in the states we can press *#*#checkin#*#* to help force am update. Don't know if it'll work overseas though.

ICS for the Nexus S doesn't use MTP (even though the unofficial ports did). You can mount USB the same way you did in Gingerbread.

I got the OTA update to ICS and it does seem faster in general than Gingerbread. One major exception is Facebook will not load over wifi, but works fine over 3g.

I did not seem to get the facial unlock feature at all. I may try the hardware acceleration to see how that affects Facebook over wifi? Anyone have any ideas about that, or my lack of facial unlock?

OTA to 4.0.3 on t-mobile nexus s from 2.3.6
smooth update
facebook will not load over wifi but works on 3g
no facial unlock installed as far as i can tell
feels quicker than gingerbread

Except for the Facebook bit, which I don't use, that's been my experience thus far with this update. Face Unlock is our "Siri" I guess. Requires the GN, lol.

I'm watching my battery usage now, though. It bugs me that Android OS is showing so high up. The CPU usage for "Android OS" is a constant 20% (according to OS Monitor), which is definitely not good on the battery. I guess time will tell! This morning I was down to 79% free after 2 hours. Used to still be high 80's low 90's after two hours.

GB was much the same way when it came out, too, and for that issue turning "USB debugging" seemed to help. I've enabled it on my phone and will be monitoring now. I guess as more "dot" releases come out, this will get better.

Just checked my nexus s and no ota update available. But I don't have a sim card in it since I just got a galaxy s II. Would that matter?
