ICS update

I'm an apple convert myself. I have had both an iPod and an iPhone years ago. Both were pieces of crap and both locked you into apple idea of what using a computer is. Apples bull crap has problems to because there software ruins the experience. I can't wait for apple to go out of business, there products suck and there business model sux. Ipad 3 is a joke. The only difference is a slight better screen and slightly better front and back cameras. Apple didn't even have the decency to make it compatible with the iPad 2 accessories. In glad Steve jobs is dead and gone, hopefully his company won't be far behind.

It really astonishes me that people actually are such hypocrites as this. You say you hate that Apple "enforces their will upon you" and yet you practically wish to enforce your own upon others with your desire to see Apple burned to the ground. Why can't people just be content with finding what they like and appreciating it rather than trying to push it onto everyone else? You don't like apple products? Good for you. Not everyone wants the same thing out of a device or values the same things as you. The narcissism on these forums seriously needs to stop.

Anyway, back on topic, still patiently waiting for my ICS update. Should be sweet.

I did find what works for me and what makes me happy when I ditched apple products.

For my use-case, A500 allows me to do exactly what I wanted a tablet to do. Whereas, the iPad would require significant hoops, which would make my use-case intolerable.

I am a swim coach, and I can do underwater video taping, and pop the microSD card from my underwater camera into the A500 (either in the slot or in a cheapo USB adapter) for the swimmer's immediate review.

I can also maintain different movie libraries on separate SD cards - coaching videos, stroke/drill examples, movies for my own children during road trips, etc.

So, for my purposes, A500 is the clear choice over any Apple. And, while ICS would be nice, I can still do everything with Honeycomb. iOS would never be able to allow me those things, unless they change the H/W. Plus, i paid significantly less for my Android tab for what I deem as more functionality/usefulness.

I have an A500 and my son has an iPad 2. We each prefer what we have and we're still good friends. I guess we just don't get it.

I have been running the leaked 4.0.4 for a while now and the performance is great. I hope the skin and Acer ring do not slow down the performance improvements I am seeing with ICS.

Man will April ever get here..still waiting on the next promised delivery of ICS of sometime in April can't remember the exact date and can't find the link to the Acer website that says what it is. As the World Turns so does the Days of our Lives....

Oh ok, well no rush anyway. It's working better than ever after the 3.2.1 update. It seems like they take their time with these updates to make sure that no crazy bug rears its ugly head due to some oversight.

yes they said mid to late January the first time and we see what happened to that. Oh well if we ever get it I guess it will be ok or just go buy a current model with ICS already on it. I'm sure it will never get Jelly Bean

If my SGSII on Sprint gets ICS before my A500, I'm going to **** bricks and pee petroleum.

Seriously though, both units work great and can't complain if it (they) never get ICS. I would like to have it but it won't break my heart if they don't.

Just my two cents here.....

Apple makes a stylish functional product that looks good...albeit at a premium price. I choose NOT to use any apple products, not because of the product, but because I just don't like apple and thier bullyish practices. But I could careless if a friend or anyone else for that matter has an apple product....but be warned though, I will make fun of you until you rip off those stupid skinny jeans and ditch the apple stuff for a real mans toy.

If you want to talk about android vs. iPad then make a thread about it and talk about it there. This thread is NOT a place to be "making fun" of anyone. Let's be grown ups here guys.

I for agree as well. This is a forum about ANDROID, not apple and apple has come up quite a few times. I don't know what apple Weenies have to polute our beloved android forums but I certainly wish they wouldn't. I mean I don't go to apple forums and fuss so why do they have to come to ours?

I agree but did you or did you not read the first HALF of my post. Was it or was it not on topic? After re-reading it, I have to come to the conclusion that it was. So please don't patronize.

Besides. the talk of apple is all in fun and to make the thread interesting and give something to talk about while we wait. It wasn't meant to be hurtfull, demeaning, scouring, etc., it was just meant to be funny. Sorry if a few just don't have a sense of humor but you should really try it! Might brighten your day a little. Besides, if we didn't have anything else to talk about except for ICS on our iconia's, we would have 1000 posts saying "Can't wait to get ICS, when is it coming?". Look I'm not trying to start anything here, I was just trying to help break up the monotony.

My point was just try to stay on topic and don't be rude. I'm sure most people around here are sick and tired of the iPad comments. It doesn't belong in this thread or, for that matter, any thread that isn't specifically about this debate. I have no problem with humor but's not funny to make fun of or belittle people for their preferences. I'm not trying to be a dick here, just looking out for the sake of the thread. I'm sure the mods would agree.

Anyway, an official ICS should be here in a few weeks! So pumped!
