So.... i was singing to myself in the shower one day when i got an idea! im not sure if it is possible but it could help people get 4G service in areas that sprint currently doesn't have it in.

im not sure if it is even possible but since we are rooted and can change radio and PRL settings at will. would it be possible to load a verizon radio and verizon LTE settings instead of WiMAX?

this would be useful for people who currently don't have 4G service if Verizon has 4G service there.

like in Louisville, KY there is no Sprnt 4G, whereas T-Mobile and Verizon both already have 4G up and running.

let me know what you guys think. sorry if this was a stupid idea. guess i'm just ignorant to the rules of 4G lol

Different technologies bro...A wi-max radio is not compatible with LTE.

They use the same antenna's. Sprint said if they decided to switch to LTE from Wimax (which is a rumor) that all it would take is mostly a software change on their side and on the phones too.

The problem is, VZW's LTE is in the 700 mhz band. Sprint's Wimax is in the 2.5ghz band. So your idea is dead in the water.

WiMax radios work on WiMax networks.

LTE radios work on LTE networks.

They are not mutually compatible technologies.

Moreover, the industry does not have roaming for their higher bandwidth networks anyway.
