Android Central Question

Good day everyone,

Due to work, I am to travel a lot and have had the bad surprise of seeing some extra charge on my statement due to SMS's sent abroad.
I am very careful while roaming and am 100% sure I have not sent those texts myself.

I would therefore like to try and identify which app is sending sms's from my S7 without my knowledge.

Do you have any tips for me?

What I've already done is (based on date and time that I have)
- going through Messenger and SMS apps to see whether I could find the message (couldn't)
- going through "Permissions" to try and identify dodgy apps
- Security Scanned my device for malwares
-> to no avail

Thanks in advance,

DRL

Welcome to Android Central! Do you know what numbers the texts are being sent to, and what the messages are? Is each message charging you a small amount or a large amount?

It's possible that you had some malware installed on the phone that is sending texts to a premium SMS number, which can easily lead to big charges. I'd make sure your carrier is aware of this, and see if they have any advice.

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your welcome as well as your answer.

I do not have any information regarding the number.... Even the "type of communication" is unknown, it is however in the "International SMS's" section of my bill :

I have no other charges. My hypothesis is therefore that there is no use of a premium sms number.
The surcharge comes from sending texts during my professional travels (mainly Africa) which costs 0,70€ per item.

What I'm therefore looking for if available is digging through logs or similar to try and find what sent it on that specific date...
I indeed do not find any trace of any message sent in my SMS app at these dates...
