If HTC allows conversion from Sense to stock Android, would you switch?

Would you switch from Sense 5.0 to vanilla Android on your existing HTC One?

HTC will never read this thread but they should. Their camera software should be apps. They could sell their Zoe app for $.99 to EVERY S4 user. They're idiots. Same with Highlights. If I were in charge at HTC I would go all Steve Jobs on their *** and fire every executive on the software side.

The camera software and Beats drivers are the only reason to use Sense, and Beats is in the GPe.

A developer ported the sense camera app. Waiting on the gallery.

I like how fast my phone is, but I very much prefer the stock default generic vanilla android experience without Sense. All of my Android devices eventually get rooted. This phone functions so well that I haven't tried rooting yet, though. If there were an easy way to try it out and switch back if needed, I'd definitely do it.

I don't ever use the Zoe feature. When I go to dump the photos from my phone to my PC, the little 3 second videos are fun, but the zillions upon zillions of individual photos in ADDITION to the videos annoy me. If I ever use a Zoe, I keep the video and one still photo from the pile and delete the rest.

I most likely wouldn't. Sense 5 retains a lot of the sleek look and swiftness of stock Android, but adds quite a bit of features that I just love.

did I like to look at that lock screen widget? No, I thougt it was ugly. did I like using the sense keyboard? No the buttons were too small and the swipe feature was not very accurate. Did I ever use blinkfeed? No not once. Do I like the fact I always have power saver in the notification bar? I do not? did I ever use Zoes or highlights from the camera? No. The only thing I did use from the camera was slow motion video that was pretty cool but even then I didn't use it all that often. do I use the stock mail client some sense? No I prefer Gmail. Do I use the stock HTC browser? no. Even though the stock browser is really really good its so ugly and I hate that menu bar that keeps popping up on the bottom of the screen.and last I cannot get over how ugly the phone app actually is in my opinion.

so why did I get the HTC One then? because of its amazing build quality, boom sound speakers, the 1080 p screen, and the fact it has an IR blaster.

so yeah long story short I don't you hardly any of the features from sense 5 so I'm running stock Android 4.3 and yes it does have IR blaster support. M
OK I take back everything lol. I now feel that 4.2.2 sense 5.0 > 4.3 Aosp.

The thing that surprised me the most after buying the One was the clean and well-thought look of Sense 5 along with its features. I had planned to go for a stock ROM but there really is no need to do so. With a 3rd party launcher of your choice you can customize the screens look and behavior.

Stock Android also needs 3rd party launcher and doesn't have the features Sense 5 offer, like other have said in this thread.

HTC did a terrific job on Sense 5. I can't wait to see if they are introducing more changes with the 5.5 update.

I agree with all of this. I'm actually really surprised to hear that people like Sense so much. I find blinkfeed to be useless, HATE the keyboard, and don't like the dialer UI. Granted, all of those things can be replaced with alternatives but I figured I might as well do a stock ROM when I upgraded to 4.3.
