if I allow ads, it takes 32 seconds to load www.androidcentral.com.. without ads, it takes 4 seconds

I just got a message to disable my adblocker on my computer. Not going to happen on this site. I've gotten rid of the entire right hand block that has ads and links in it and any banner ads. The site is super fast without all that junk.

I don't use the app and 99% of the time that I am on here is when I am on my computer. If they want to force me to disable the adblocker, I'll leave the site first. Sorry, that's how I feel when they force too many ads on a site that it takes triple the time to load the site then without a single ad.

I agree with you approximately 100% - no one on the forums team likes the current state and we want to see it fixed - I've actually suggested, as have other members, the subscription model with zero ads as well. As a moderator, the number of times we're clicking in and out of threads, not having any of those scripts running would be awesome. I also subscribe to the same plan for YT and GPM, that's by far my preferred model as opposed to ad supported.

I'm a certified cheapskate. :) There are very few websites that I'm willing to pay for. I will happily pay around $5 a month for Android Central. I'm no ashamed to admit this, but I also subscribe to 2 or 3 hardcore adult websites with, well, hardcore stuff that can't be found for free. My point is that if a website has great content, people like me will be willing to pay for it.

Of course, there should be at least 2 levels of membership. Free and paid. (with extra benefits for paid members, of course) :)

^ subscriptions are definitely something we've talked about in the past. Can't promise if or when something like that would happen, but it is on the radar!

this pretty much sums up what I want to say....

Will Android Central please take my money? (before I spend it all on cold draft beers) :D

I just decided to turn off adblock + just to see how this site loads up again. Not only did some of the ads give the message that they couldn't load but the page loading icon at the top of the tab continued spinning and the page continued to load for over two minutes. The fans on my MacBook Pro spun up to their maximum as well.

This site has too many issues to turn off an adblocker.

Forwarded your reply to Tim Cook and he immediately replied "upgrade to a new
2016 Macbook Pro with Touch Bar! or if you're already using the new one, stop
visiting Android sites... " :D :D :D

I returned the non-Touchbar new Macbook Pro. Just couldn't live with that awful keyboard. I spent hours each day typing and my fingers are very picky.... :(
Nothing about the new one inspires me to sell my 2015 for it.

Apple is losing it. Also, the iPhone 7 is the second iPhone I have no plans to buy.

I haven't tried using this site without an adblocker on my Surface Pro 3 yet but I suspect using Chrome on it will also having loading issues as I had on my Mac.

Instead of asking users to pay subscription fee, try asking for (no, demanding) support from the device manufacturers and carriers. This forum and others like it take a huge load off of manufacturer/carrier support teams and probably generate more sales than tv commercials do.

not manufacturers and carriers... that will only cause people to lose faith in the reviews and comments from Android Central.

perhaps a large retailer? like how Amazon purchased DPReviews and IMDB.
