*If* I were to return my HOX, what AT&T phone should I get?

So I replaced the phone......

with a.....

...'nother HOX. It's got 1.85, is playing Slacker much better SO FAR. It still has the iffy wi-fi dropping but waiting a few seconds usually restores service. On my old HOX occasionally all my networks would switch off (wi-fi/bluetooth, mobile network). THAT was annoying.

So now I just need to get my hands on a Car dock.

Kevin.. thanks for the response. I notice you still have the HOX listed as your device of choice, so you're obviously OK with the multitasking problem most seem very frustrated with now.

And like any device, it's clear the GS3 is anything but perfect and will be interesting to see what happens when ATT gets some into people's hands (providing Apple doesn't get in the way).

I suspect as time goes on, HTC will release additional fixes, etc. that may address some of the 'problem' areas many are experiencing. I agree the camera seems to be amazing, the screen is the best and the form factor is very nice on the One X, also. Would you agree that it's head and shoulders above the GS2 Skyrocket? Car Toys has the HOX fore $119 which is very tempting :)

I'm of a small minority of the larger whole that roots and roms my phone. If the One X didn't get bootloader unlock as fast as it did I would be a lot more down on it than I am. Why? Because as soon as kernel source is released by HTC (email has been sent) then the real work will begin and this multi-tasking conundrum won't affect me anymore.

Also, the multi-tasking doesn't bother me because I'm not super multi-tasker that does 10 things at a time. I'm usually only doing 2-3 at most at a time.

As for everybody else, I would say use the phone, see if it does what you want, and if it doesn't take advantage of your choice as a consumer to return it and vote with your wallet.

I would definitely agree that it's head and shoulders above the Skyrocket. I owned the SGSII and loved that phone, and the One X puts it to shame. The SGSIII will do the same I'm sure.

Kevin.. thanks again, though since I'm a noobie and don't want to void the warranty, I won't be rooting. As to multitasking, I'm the sort that will use the browser and maybe another one or two apps while on the phone, so the issue with the Sense design in this area is of great concern.

I think I'll just sit tight until we see how good the GS3 is and what nasty issues pop up with the ATT versions as people take possession..
