If the hardware is just so-so, why all the exitement?

I definately want more hardware, as my Xoom is certainly not a smooth experience, and that doesn't lend well for the Nexus, considering it has a similar resolution screen and specs.

I think I have come to a conclusion about "THIS" guy...

Google has always intended their developer's phone to be a consumer product. Come on how is this argument? They used to use adp1 and adp2 prior to renaming it Nexus adp2 = android developers phone.

Plus I posted the developers link that says the galaxy nexus should be the only phone used for ics development. And no an app developed on different devices won't always work on other devices.

Next time you download an app read the reviews. Does "doesn't work on (insert phones name her) " sound familiar?

Of course the Nexus is the only phone that should currently be used for ICS development...It is, after all, the only phone out there with an official build of ICS. Using another phone wouldn't get the job done.

It's an inaccurate statement because the Nexus IS NOT first and foremost a developer phone as he said. So that's just false. The Nexus was and always has been meant to be a Google phone to display their latest work with the Android OS. Being a developer phone is a secondary prerogative of the Nexus line. So I will repeat to you as well... "Try again."

As for what you have said in previous posts, the GSM version of the Nexus doesn't have Google Wallet because so far Google Wallet has only rolled out in the United States. But be certain that Google will make every effort to have Google Wallet released on AT&T, Spring, And T-Mobile.

I was all ready to debate this with you bit it appears there is no need to as others have already made my points for me, but I will summarize:

1. The Nexus phones first and foremost developer devices and consumer devices secondary.
2. Nexus phones are Google's devices that they give out a development conferences they are free of OEM customizations and show off what Google things a phone can be. The only exceptions to this have been the Moto Droid (which was also a stock device) and the Galaxy Tap 10.1 before it was blurred.
3. Even when the N1 was first released to consumers it was first and foremost a developer device. Nexus S was more available to consumers but was still the same idea. First and foremost it is a developer device.
4. The reason that updates come from Google so that they can get updates and patches to the developers ASAP going around any lengthily carrier approval process.

Agreed. I was originally concerned about the camera until I got to take a couple shots with it at a Verizon store........it seems to be considerably better (as far as clarity) than my Razr. The Razr is practically useless at taking pictures indoors. You have to really hold the phone extremely still to get somewhat clear shot indoors...and this is with the flash on. Motorola should give out a damn tripod with it...

That won't help. Motorola tripods only have 2 legs.

What do any of these statements have to do with anything about what I've said? These 4 points you've made to apply to what the OP has said, but you are quoting what I've said while making these points. The only point you have stated that applies to what I've said is point number one...And what you're stating is simply false. If that was true, then why would they market this phone exclusively to consumers through Google Advertisements?

Aside from that, I am not the one questioning whether this phone is worth purchasing or not. I'm not the OP of this thread. I'm simply stating that I don't trust VZW to not do something stupid like be the first carrier in Nexus history to include bloatware. Of course, they have already done that. Google has already stated in a press release that Google Wallet was not included with this phone at VZW's request. I understand that debating anything negative about VZW is pointless given that your name on here is VZWRocks. Clearly, you are a fan.

I will simply say that long before any of this drama arose, I posted on this forum for people to not be surprised if VZW includes bloatware or Samsung includes Touchwiz. Thankfully we didn't see Touchwiz (that would have been a dealbreaker). But we do have two apps from VZW that I don't want included on this phone instead of only Google apps. I also wouldn't be surprised if VZW was responsible for pushing updates to this phone.

I am well aware you are not the OP. I quoted you because I was addressing your inaccurate assertion about point 1 and summing up the rest of the thread.

The Nexus series are developer phones PERIOD always have been.

Google has tried to make some additional money on them (recoup the R&T dollars) by offering them to consumers as well (morose now than before, but that does not change the fact that they are developer devices.

That's clearly not something that we are going to are on but your repeated telling me and others that we are plain wrong dos not change anything.

If they were serious about making them a commercial product they would negotiate contracts with all of their carrier partners to launch them but right now they aren't. There would be no Verizon exclusive, and AT&T and T-Mobile would both be carrying them and a Sprint WiMax version would either be available or in development. Only a handful throughout the world are carrying them themselves the rest are sold by mail order or independent cel stores.
