If using custom-rom without SenseUI.. what's missing exactly?

Ok besides the obvious Sense widgets (Clock, Friendstream, etc..)

What else is part of "Sense" on the Evo? I've never seen another android device close up so I have no clue as to what parts of of my UI are using Sense and what are not.

I've set up ADB Launcher to see what sense-less looks like, and other than the widgets I don't see a single difference.. there has to be more for the huge 40meg app that is SenseUI.

Are some of the nice contact features (all-in-one links etc...) part of Sense perhaps? or is that stock android?

Reason I'm asking is I'm thinking of rooting and switching in the somewhat near future, mostly so I can get a decent backup app working (even my Palm OS could do this years ago!). If I root, I figure I might as well check out some custom roms, but wondered exactly what it is about Sense that everyone dispises.. ADB is very similar (or can be if set up a certain way), so I'm wondering what it is I'm not seeing.

It depends what your running. If you have a ROM with sense but using Launcher2 (like the stock one) the only noticeable difference you'll see is the widgets and amount of home screens.

If your running a AOSP, FroYo, ect. ROM without sense there will be no Facebook sync either.
