Ah but the clarity at which is optimum for human viewing is 1080, any higher and its just a marketing gimmick to charge more money for it, as the human eye can't distinguish the difference between 1080 and anything higher than it.

I bet you've never even seen a 1081p screen. I have. I live next to the factory that makes them.
That's not true, actually humans are unable to distinguish differences over 300 PPI at approximately 12 away.
There is no visual difference in normal usage between a 720p and 1080p screen on a phone.
When you drastically increase the size of a screen to that of a large screened TV then the 1080p screen is much more useful, but on these 4.7" screens the only substantial difference between a 720 and 1080p screen is the power drain and strain on the processors.

I think I would add the bigger battery. That is the main reason that I am going to end up with a MAXX instead of the X. I want a phone that I can crush for a full day and still have a lot of juice left. I am just tired of trying to preserve battery during the day, or making sure I have a chance to plug in.
