Unless the battery is crap I don't see this being an issue for many people. I'm coming from the world of iPhones so I haven't had a user replaceable battery since my Treo 650, but I've also never needed one since then either. As long as I can charge my phone while I'm at my desk at work I have plenty of juice at the end of the day and I've never seen the need to have the battery replaced. With people simply replacing their phones every 1-2 years does this even matter?

the iphone from iphone 4 and on has actually has a very USER FRIENDLY replaceable battery.. Places that charge for this service are making out like bandits. The iphone 4, 4s and 5 only require you to remove two screws and the front or back plate just slides off. No adhesive or anything and the battery can easily be removed and replaced. This is the reason why you see so many local stores, shops, craigslist postings on people that change out hte iphone battery.. It's that EASY!!!

The HTC one on the other hands looks like its near impossible to replace.. what a bummer.. I don't see why they couldn't still have the same awesome design but use a similar screw time latching system for the front display as apple. that way you can replace the screen easily and have the battery the first thing you see under the screen so the two most common parts that need to be replaced can be done so easily. oh well i still like the phone but it's definitely going to be a lot tougher to sell after two years than say the Galaxy or my old iphone.

I just sold my iphone 4s for 320 bucks after two years and sold my galaxy s3 for 400 bucks after a year of use. . not bad..

I'm aware of how easy it is, I replaced the wifi antenna in my 4s. My point is that no one is replacing iPhone batteries. These batteries just don't lose life fast enough for it to matter.

FYI, Aluminium is relatively weak, soft and cheap, as far as metal goes. And it is in fact not impact resistant and it dents and scratch easily too, even if anodized.

So please do get a case for your aluminium phone cause you will need it.

:P really? On the contrary, in one year time, you will see a boat load of people changing their batteries.

Why are you pulling up threads that are over a month old? Your only 7 posts are basically digging up old threads that have died. One of your other posts someone else also asks you the same question and each one of the posts starts a controversy.
