I'm a bit concerned

75% of the reason that I am going to the Evo from the Pre is the HD video recording. Nobody can give a strait answer as to which it better. The other 25% it hardware failures.

Do you plan on watching what you record on the Evo on a HD Tv or on your computer? The Evo has the better recording abilities, but to make the file size managable they compress the hell out of it which shows up when watching on a bigger screen. On the phone itself it looks fine. But yeah, the Evo camera is way better than the Pre camera which doesn't even have auto focus.

I agree. The Pre had amazing quality on its camera. The Evo though has many more options when it comes to recording. Give it time and the camera will only improve.

Ok I will, I plan watching a lot off of facebook. I like to take videos of my son and upload them to facebook so my family can see. The other time it will be just on the phone.

Then don't worry about it . You wouldn't notice the quality drop when viewing on the phone or facebook. Only when it's blown up (On a bigger screen).

Ya I've been thinking the same thing... I'm sure there will be an app that will decompress the video or whatever so we can watch it comfortably on a bigger tv or whatever. man i'm so excited to get this phone i can't wait!!! I even got a kitten and named him evo. this is going to be 4gasmic.

Look at it this way…does it really matter how good it is??? Does the phone you have now record in HD and do all the things the evo does?? As long as it actually records and looks good why bother complaining??? Not being an ass, im just sayin..I read all the articles and watched all the videos on the evo and when ppl say its one of the best android phones out there…i laugh bc ppl are being picky and not noticing what they have..its a phone that records in HD, has 2 cameras, can do video/voice chat and a whole lot of other stuff..im upgrading from a hero so if I was you I would just roll with the punches and be happy HD is an option
