News I'm done with heart rate monitor chest straps

A decent technical evaluation of accuracy would compare readings against at least a four wire ECG, of which there are portable ones. Otherwise these are just product comparisons among different, less expensive consumer options. Not quite "pointless," but not really a rigorous evaluation either.

This article doesn't make sense. While no one is expecting a consumer device to have the accuracy of an expensive medical or laboratory grade device, for testing it's relevant to see how accurate something is under multiple conditions when compared to a gold standard. Trying to compare accuracy to something else inaccurate only compounds the unknown degrees of error, since you don't have a reliable baseline or benchmark.

As long as you are comparing measurements from the same device then significant changes between those are what is important at spotting issues. If they are all off by the same few percent then that is not important.

I have an H10 as well, and I have problems from time to time. I will be huffing and puffing, and the HR reading will be way off saying like 89 or 95 when it should be 145 or more. I had a Garmin strap for many years, and it seemed to work better. Disappointed with Polar.
