First of all, apologies if this is in the wrong forum section.
After I exited Safe Mode my theme changed from a dark/black to a white/light theme, noticeable in default Android apps, the quick settings drawer and main settings menu. I use Nova Launcher and I was able to use dark colors for every other menu. I have a SmartSwitch back up, but all that did was mess up how my wallpaper looks when rotated to landscape mode. I use Android 7.0 on a Samsung J730F. I know dark mode isn't available by default on Android 7, but I am certain I did have it enabled somehow. Does anyone know how to change the color back?

Create a widget shortcut in Nova for 'Activities'. If you find a listing for 'System UI Tuner' (I think it was there back in the day IIRC), there are a few tweaks you can do to the UI and see if there's a dark mode option.

It might just be called UI Tuner, I can't totally remember as it was a long time ago.

If you download Shortcut Maker - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=rk.android.app.shortcutmaker&hl=en-US - in the 'Activities' box there's a search option so enter 'Tuner' or 'UI' and check that.

Manufacturers can enable or disable it so maybe Samsung did the latter (I know they don't have it available now but no idea about then). It was available on my Motorola during that period and my subsequent Nokia phones later, otherwise I have no idea how you may have set it up if not by that route I'm afraid.

I couldn't find System UI Tuner even after enabling Developer Options. Now I'm worried about how many other things Safe Mode broke for me.

Welcome to AC!
I'm not sure what android version dark mode arrived it's standard in today's devices but go to settings>display do you see a toggle?
