I'm happy with my 4 xl

I'm very much not happy with my Pixel 4 XL phone, but not for any technical reason. I ordered my phone through Google Fi (where I've been a customer for over 5 years) about 15 min. after it was announced. A Black 128GB Pixel 4XL. What was delivered to me two weeks ago was a White 65GB Pixel 4XL. For 2 weeks now I've been chatting, calling and emailing customer support to try to get this resolved. I've gotten nothing from them but "just wait and eventually we'll figure it out". I was "escalated" to the Shipping department and they will only communicated via email. At this point I don't even want the phone, I just want this experience to be over so I can move on. I've been a loyal Google customer for years (Nexus 6P, Pixel 2XL) and it's a shame that now I don't even want their product because of this absolutely horrific service experience.

I've had the pixel 2 XL and i reaaaaally hated the 3xl's notch, or any other notched phone so i said I'm going to skip a generation or at least until this notch thing goes away. So before buying the 4 i've been looking online. SO MANY , SO, SO, SO many negative reviews. So much hate. Incredible, but since i wanted to update my phone and I really don't like samsung or LG or any other kind of skinned OS and the oneplus will always feel like a cheap product to me I decided to buy a 4 XL. TBH I do not see the reasons for hating this phone. The battery for me is as good as any other phone i've had previously or my friends(note 10+). I've had at least 5 and a half hours screen on time per day. The screen looks amazing even in low light. And the OS... omg it's smooth AF. TBH for me this phone is solid. I really don't care about the tech community's opinions anymore.

Cheers guys.

I have a Pixel 4XL and I'm loving it! The battery life has been just fine for me, although I confess the phone spends a lot of time on my Pixel Stand at home or in the office. I did a battery test one day and got 16 hours out of it before it reached 5%, so that's pretty decent to me. The display is great, the gestures are fast and work as they should, and the updates are timely. It didn't hurt that Verizon gave me nearly half off the phone's price for trading in my Pixel 3XL. Oh, and the notch is gone! :)

I'm not saying the Pixel 4XL is a bad device in any way, however I think it's a bit of a stretch to suggest it's probably the best Android device out there. I love Pixels but someone would have to convince me that it's true.
I don't think it's the best device when you factor in price, hardware etc., But for me and my use case it's the best device. Mainly because the camera when it comes to taking still photos which it nails it almost every time without any effort and me having a 3 and 5 year old I snap tons of pics. Then the other thing is the user experience of stock, buttery smooth stock Android and simplicity. Another thing that I really enjoy which I know a lot of people don't is the design. I love the pixel 4 design l, feel and color (clearly white). Those to me are the most important and the pixel 4 xl meets my requirements so for me it's a great phone.

Ofcourse it's not for everyone just like the note 10, s10 and iPhone are not for everyone. For example I've used iOS up until the iPhone 6s and to me the iOS OS is boring. (My wife still uses iOS and to be frank almost all of my friends use it so it's not like I don't know what the experience is like). But this is my personal preference and opinion which I'm allowed to have just like everyone else who might enjoy the iPhone or Galaxy devices. That's the great thing with tech we have options and we are not forced to buy only one product.

My last string of phones went lg g6, pixel 2, pixel 3, S10, iPhone 11pro, pixel 4.

I agree that it's the best of the bunch. Each of those phones were good in their own right, but each had flaws, and to me each was as big as the battery issue on the pixel 4.

Unfortunately, nobody has tackled all of the issues in a single device yet...and if they did, it'd probably be so expensive that it too would have that as a flaw

This is me, to a tee. I LOVE my 2 XL, but I wanted something new. Didn't need it. The phone is perfect for me. I have no idea what my screen on time is, as it hasn't been an issue. Love it.

The only brand of Android phones I purchased has been the ones from Google .Started with Nexus 6 to the Pixel 4 XL .
I did skip the Pixel 3 for other reasons unrelated to the phone.
I'm happy with my Pixel 4 XL
:)

I was rocking a 3 XL and wasn't even sure I was going to upgrade cause I liked that phone so much. After reading about the features and seeing that beautiful orange color I was sold. I waited a day before trying to order and had a hard time tracking down an Oh So Orange model to have on release. I usually order from Google, but they were sold out until November. I was able to find a BestBuy that had one and got it from there. I've been very happy with it. I had a Nexus S, 6p, Pixel XL, and then a 3 XL. Battery life is great for me, love the 90hz, and camera is outstanding. The negative reviews bother me, cause they are mostly going on the specs and not the whole experience. In my opinion the Pixel and pure Android experience is worth it.

I thought I had found my perfect phone when I got the Note 5 but after about 6 months I was just getting more and more annoyed with. I hated the Samsung skin. When I finally traded it in for the Pixel 2 XL I was so relieved to be on Pure Google again since giving up my bamboo Motorola whatever it was called. I had intended to keep the 2 XL for another year but the plastic feel of the screen was getting to me so I switched to the 4XL and I couldn't be happier. the battery easily lasts all day but I do admit it could be better but none of the other complaints stack up to anything. It's like reviewers aren't happy unless they trash the Pixel.

I've had the 4XL (after OG XL 2 yrs and briefly 3XL but had to dump Verizon for a service issue) since launch and honestly am having a great and quite satisfied experience! Clean, clear and instantly responsive display. Big hands here and the infinity displays on Sam made my typing sloppy. With P4XL it's super smooth glide typing, app opening, switch ing, photos, you name it. A BEAST with minimal UI. Once I get a phone I don't want to keep messing with it. Open it, set it up and go use it. Reviews in general, especially grabby clickbate headlines make my eyes roll. I'm a big proponent of trying it yourself. Battery life for no drastic battery saver is more than sufficient, and recharge time is quite rapid. I'm #TEAMPIXEL all the way!

I love the Pixel 4XL. My only problem with it, and it is a big one for me is no fingerprint sensor. Coming from the Pixel 2XL before this, it was absolutely amazing. One problem with face unlock is, not many apps support it yet so I feel like I am going backwards here having to type out my password for apps. Also, it is very annoying when face unlock doesn't work. I noticed it in three places specifically. Laying in bed when only part of my face is visible due to pillows or blankets. At the gym when I lay my phone down next to the bench I am using, it just unlocks since I am bent over the phone. Last when I am on my motorcycle (not when actually riding but when I am stopped and have my helmet, glasses and face mask on.) I would imagine this is going to be an issue skiing as well.

Everything else about the phone is amazing, I just wish they kept the fingerprint sensor as all fo this would have been avoided. I debated returning ti and keeping the 2XL. At times I question my decision, but once you are actually in the phone I enjoy it quite a bit.

I am also enjoying my Pixel 4XL. I wake up use and enjoy my Pixel all day. It does everything I ask it to and quite well. I came from a Pixel 3 XL and a long line of Moto phones. I had a Samsung 7 Edge and lasted 7 weeks with it before i sold it to get a new Moto. As long as I am happy that is all that counts. I really wonder if the people who review this stuff have an agenda sometimes. Seems like some love the phone and others just complain about what it does not have or how it lags or whatever. I read them with a grain of salt close by.

I went on a bit of a roller coaster, like the traveling circus kind, not the terrifying Six Flags kind, and I am really settling into liking this phone a lot. We're not in love yet. The experience has forever changed my perspective on professional reviews. I'll grab my grain bag of salt next year for Pixel 5 season.

I've had this phone since release (a few weeks now) and I still love it! All of the big "complaints" that I see online don't really effect me. I think 6 gigs of RAM is plenty. 64 gb if storage actually works fine for me. The display is beautiful. I would've actually preferred a larger bottom bezel with that front facing speaker (smaller bezel makes for more accidental screen touches).
Now the battery. It's FINE! More than fine! I get easily 5-6 hours of on screen time. Maybe that's not quite enough for you. If it isn't, I'm guessing at some point in your 8-10 hours of use you will have access to a charger. Now with fast charging you get hours of screen use with minutes of charging.
I will say, face unlock takes some getting used to. It's strange not really being able to look at notifications on the lock screen because the phone is unlocked as soon as you pick it up. I think you can change that though.
Motion sense makes the face unlock super fast. Outside of that the only thing I can really think of it making a huge difference is in hands free driving. Especially as they incorporate more uses and gestures.
Am I happy I got this phone? Definitely! Would I recommend it? Definitely! If you are very heavy phone user are there better options out there? Sure. What about the wide angle lense? Phones never had them before and we were fine. You can but cases that allow you to attach them if it's that important to you. I like the telephoto.
Hope this helps!

I've had my Pixel 4 for a little over a week now, and I absolutely LOVE the phone! The battery is fine, (it lasts longer than the one on my iPhone 7), and the one day I experienced heavy use, a ten minute late afternoon charge was all that was needed. The camera is great, the screen is fantastic, I really like the design, (I've got the white one), and I'm really happy to be back with Android after my three year fling with the iPhone. The regular Pixel is a GREAT phone!

If I bought a Pixel 4, or any other device, I'd be satisfied with it. Why? I spend a considerable amount of time researching a potential purchase.

I broke down and bought the pixel 4 xl. I was really interested in how the motion gesture work and soli.

I'll keep it as a play phone because it just can't match up to my note 10 as a daily driver.

No waaaaaaaaay lol
Which color?

All started with the first "Droid". Since then, Samsung's. Then, and since, Google's Nexus and now Pixels. The 4XL is a fine phone. Love the cam. The recorder function is great. With some creative battery watching, I can easily get through a day. Google hasn't let me down, and I plan on staying for the long haul. Bring on the 5! 😃

Same here and well said. Loving my 4XL!
