Is there a Compass application somewhere, I couldn't find it ......?

The Gear S3 does not feature compass hardware, so no native compass apps are available. However, if you search for Compass apps in the Galaxy Apps store (in the Watch section) you'll find a handful that use GPS to mimic compass functionality (mind you, and per their own description, this is NOT accurate and uses GPS AND Movement to determine direction and position relative to North).
