Sorry guys (not that you really care I know :) ), I caved in and got the Note 2. Loved my original EVO, it was a great phone that got me out of my post-pre depression. The LTE, however, has for me been mostly a disappointment. Sense issues, non changeable battery, lockups, poor camera (for me anyway, never could get decent shots) app issues from the "multitasking" not great reception, wi-fi locking up and general frustrations. Not that the LTE was horrible, I enjoyed some things about it and I know could have fixed other things with a Root, but even that was not going smoothly when I decided to jump to Samsung. HTC dropped the ball somewhere after the original EVO IMO.

Got a heck of a deal one the Note 2 $149 from Best Buy Mobile solutions' ebay site AND got the $50 gift card as well. Just sold the Evo LTE for 199 on ebay, so coming out ahead on this one.

Now the HTC One looks interesting and I hope it works out for them and whoever gets it, if nothing else front speakers makes a lot of sense to me, but find I really am enjoying the big screen and the stylus of the Note 2 -- brings me back to my old Treo Days. Love how the notebook can pop right up as soon as I remove the pen.

In any case, this has been a great forum and there are a lot of very talented and dedicated types here. So good luck to all of you that are still here. Its been fun.

You will love your Note2. I came from HTC. Welcome!

Do they offer better prices on their ebay site? And they give you the GC if you signed up in time when you buy off the ebay site?

Thread title made me laugh :-)

Made the switch last week and am just kicking myself for not having done it sooner. Glad to hear another positive experience

The prices jump around on the bb mobilesolutions ebay site, so you have to check. I had the Note 2 shipped to one of the BB mobile stores (instead of to my house) since that was free and I knew I was going to need help with activation. Took about a week and got several emails on the status of the shipment and when it was ready to pick up. When they did all the activation things at the BB mobile store in the mall, lo and behold, the $50 gift card spit out of their computer. I had signed up for that $50 promotion but did not think it was going to work for this transaction, so was very pleased (YMMV). Of course I spent it right away! There was no indication on the BB ebay site that the gift card would work, but then again it also didn't say it wouldn't work.

Oh, yeah and the Brick and Mortar BB stores would NOT price match the mobilesolutions price...

But didn't you pay online before they shipped it? Or did you pay at the store since it was shipped to the store?

I paid the $149 (plus tax) online before they shipped, but when they went through the activation process at the store (which took a bit since I needed to do the old phone number swap-a-roo to get the upgrades to come out right) the gift card just spit out. Thus, I could not use the card on the price of the phone, but since I was planning to buy a case and screen protector anyway, I spent it on that -- but could have just as easily saved it for later. It was a "Gift Card" on a sheet of paper with a bar code that the printer spat out.

This does match up with what a CSR from the seperate Silver Premier mobile site told me, that with the special internet deals for Silver members, you could not use the $50 card to buy the phone, but would get the card to use on something else.

Mods, can we move this thread to the Sprint Note 2 forum and change the title to "Hey, I'm new here"?

I was waiting for that post... I would argue that although this thread may have diverted a bit it is still geared towards evo owners and not a thread about the note. It's good to know that there are options available and what fellow evo owners (or ex owners) are doing. Like I said I wish I would have switched sooner.

I knew someone would be waiting for it. :p

I still don't understand the need. Say you always shop at Walmart, then one day decide to switch and try Target. You LOVE Target way more. Do you go and stand next to the Walmart greeter and tell everyone coming in: "Hey, I used to shop here, but I've now switched to Target and love it!"?

Oh well, no matter, I guess everyone just feels the need to talk about their greener pastures. Carry on.

I could understand these threads a lot more if they were for gs3s. The Note 2 is a different class of phone than the EVO 4G LTE. I know the Note 2 is wonderful (have several friends who have them), I mean nothing against it or Samsung.

If you were an active member of the Walmart forum then you should update them of the greener pasture that is target :-)

It also sends a message to perspective buyers. When I was first interested in the note 2 I would check the forum to see if the general consensus was good or if the forum was dominated by people discussing bugs and switching to other phones.

Kinda stupid to get the note 2 when the 3 is just around the corner! HTC will probably go under now that you are here telling us our phone sucks and the note is awesome!

Remember what the doormouse said, feed your head!

I was on evo #4 and refused to get #5 and have 0 regrets after the switch

The sg4 is almost here and we'll see how fast the note 3 follows. I was originally thinking I would wait and upgrade to the note 3

Kind of funny that you say that, I just went over to the Sprint Note 2 forum and 90% of the posts are threads on problems that people are having.

That's the typical nature of forums, 98% of users will never post in a forum, and the remaining 2% are split between those people having issues and those of us who like to help people out.

I guess, I'm just different. When I get a new phone I move on to the new forum that the covers that phone and don't feel the need to go back to the forum of my old phone to try to convince people that I'm smart and moved to the best phone in the world.

Hey there, Jude! I haven't seen you in a minute! We both used to have OG Droid Incredibles. It looks like we have both moved on to Samsung Galaxy phones! How is that Note 2 treating you?

Going to go troll the Palm Pre forums now. Lol
