i am seriously thinking about waiting until April and checking out the Bionic before i get the Thunderbolt now...why not right?

Future TB owners,
I totally agree with this poster.
I think HTC should have left the charging port on the bottom of the Thunderbolt ala my EVO.
I mean... I have tried both vertical(yes the EVO can also stand in a vertical position (without the charging cord) and horizontal(landscape) positions(with charging cord).
IMO, my EVO while Watching youtube,Sprint TV,Streaming NFL Games,video chatting with Qik and Tango is a much better experience in the Horizontal position.Especially,for full screen applications.
All this while the charger is plugged into the bottom of the phone which is
actually on the right side of the phone when in the horizontal position.
This action is needed because, as we all know about how great the EVO's battery life is?
I really see the Mini USB location as a main concern for the TB.
Why?
It appears the charger port on the TB is located on the bottom left side of the phone, Which will now be the at the bottom of the phone when in the horizontal(landscape)position.
Unless the battery life in the TB is much better than the EVO?
Watching youtube videos,extended video chatting,watching sports or tv broadcast,streaming full length movies to you TB
might be limited to the vertical position if a charger is needed?
With that said.. I hope HTC will relocate(to the bottom on the phone) the Mini USB port for the final retail version.

Ok I'm back from Florida, good trip, so from what I can see is I still don't know where my thunderbolt is

You make me ROFL with that. It's not moving, the thing is built and it's going to be on the side.
Yes it sucks, but with regards to what I've read about the Evo and issues with the port at the bottom they addressed it this way. Yes though it makes no sense why at least the kickstand goes the one direction when it should go the other just because of this situation. I think that is the big thing that is being overlooked.
Just found out from my friend at Verizon that TBolt will be released on the 17th!!!

One of my best friends is a sales rep and they sent out an email to all of them today stating that the Thunderbolt will be released on the 17th.
Up to this point he was getting all his info from me (he too is waiting to get it) but he text me today saying it is official.

Not flaming you and I harbor no ill will, but truly many of us have been waiting for much longer than Feb 14th and have seen these unsubstantiated claims before. I hope you are right, you have just not given any of us any additional real hope.

but i have been asking him everyday if he heard anything from corp and he said that they are not telling them anything.
finally today they sent an email saying it will be out Thursday the 17th...i believe him. up until today he was asking me what i have been hearing. i knew once it was official i would hear it from him first and not the internet.
I think you could have left the YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST line out. We didn't hear it here first. We heard it from BMX then everyone else. Not that your not right but this isn't the first time we heard the 17th.
No offense please....but we've all heard the same thing time and time again.
And we've heard just as many reasons for the delay.
I think I even heard King Kong and Godzilla had to do with the delay, but they were under Steve Jobs' spell.
I hope you are right, I hope your buddy is right...but please bear in mind all the "inside sources" we've all heard, etc.
We're all waiting for the phone...so please excuse our cautious optimism.
