I'm sad to say goodbye to my S8+

As I'm doing the factory reset and boxing up my S8+ to return it to tmobile, I'm sad to see the smaller, rounder-edged, device leave. :(

I'm sure I'll learn to love my Note 8, but, the S8+ is a great device.

Why did you upgrade in the first place?

The screen sizes on the S8+ and Note 8 are the same even though the Note 8 is a bigger phone. I bought the S8+ in June thinking I would not want the Note 8 but I still bought the 8 on launch day. I'm keeping both phones (I have three T-Mobile lines) and the S8+ has better battery life then the Note 8.

3500mah on S8+ vs 3300mah on Note 8, not too noticable. S9 is coming out soon too.

Because it's you. You're using the same Google account that was used on the phone before. If you try any other account on it, it will ask you to enter the one used prior to a factory reset. And you're entering that. FRP doesn't protect against the owner. You're the freaking owner. It protects against use by anyone other than the owner. Also this has just started on Lollipop or Marshmallow depending on the brand on device you used. So if you previously had an older device, it may not have had it.

Even Google's and Samsung's own support website says you should remove your account properly before factory reset.

Thanks for posting that. There were a few things I wasn't aware of.

I just did a reset of my Note 5. I intentionally did not sign out of the device. I was asked for my Samsung password, which I had to reset because I couldn't remember. Once I got that arranged, I was not prompted for the previous sign in.

Thats was probably because it was your Samsung account & not your Google account. If it was your Google account it would have prompted you for your previous sign in
