Now I'm starting to swipe to left yo see what's good with my day and my social media it's very informative cant believe I like it have any of you experience this

Maybe I'm ignorant. But Bixby seemed better on my Note 8, before it was upgraded. Before, when opening it up I had a list of things, much like the old Google Now. But since going to the 9 it appears it's all voice driven. What I'm I missing?

Still haven't used it, I guess a fear of change is holding me back

you can setup voice command macros to do a series of things like turn on wifi, turn off bluetooth, and set volume to 8...all with a single command!

Asked Bixby the mileage from LA to Las Vegas, it would give me airline schedules but not the miles. Both Siri and Goodle give mileage, what am I doing wrong?

Bixby is really only meant to use voice commands to operate the phone, not really anything beyond that.

Change how you ask it, these things don't always understand us.

I asked for the distance from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and it opened Google maps showing the route and distance.

I use Bixby mostly for phone settings - screen brightness, turn bluetooth on or off, open the Waze app, stuff like that. Google voice is awesome and in what I've tried between Bixby and Google, Google typically works quicker. Google is great for non phone setting things (what are the holiday hours for "ABC Store" , and various other searches.

If you ask "How many miles from Los Angeles is Las Vegas" it gives you 263 miles

I ask "How many miles from Los Angeles to Las Vegas" and I am given the current flight schedule from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. I hold down Bixby Button and ask the question. How do you ask the question?

On mine when I ask la to lv it open Google maps and gives distance, but when I ask from Missoula to Seattle it just opens maps. Anything outside of phone control and bixby gets a little wonky.

One very dumb thing with the Bixby is even that I allowed it for taking information about my location and other stuff, Bixby still thinks that I can understand stupid US standard system. From the other hand Google done it well.

Bixby is designed best for phone settings. You can also ask questions like you can with Google Assistant but reading thru Bixby tutorials will instruct you best on how to phrase your questions. Bixby and GA are 2 different types of assistants and shouldn't be ccompared. However, you can use both Bixby and GA. I hope this helps.

Google Assistant is better at searching the web, Bixby is better at controlling the phone.

I find it amusing I can ask Bixby to post the 5th photo in my phone to Facebook and it can successfully open Facebook and upload the photo. I still need to press share, but it does everything else.

Google opens up a web search giving me results for how to post a photo to Facebook.

As the proud owner of a Samsung 8, which has a dedicated Bixby button where no button would otherwise rightfully be, I'm a cynic. I believe that voice recognition software should be left to the biggest players; Amazon, Google, Apple, etc. Samsung is a fabulous manufacturer of high-technology goods, but this is not their forte, yet. Don't worry about Bixby. When Bixby has its day in the sun, you'll hear about it, but that day has still not yet come. In the meantime, I use Google Assistant, sparingly, and the physical Bixby button on my Samsung 8 is remapped for the camera, yay. Good day.

Was starting to learn Bixby a little however Google is still my go to. Mainly because I wear a single wireless BT earbud for calls and social interactions most of the day. When and If I can get it to work with bixby I may try again. I have to be able to answer text, messenger, email and calls hands free.
