Sorry my post was long. I type for a living and therefore type really fast. I did return my Huawei phone but it kept coming back to me in the mail. "Insufficient postage". The seller made it impossible to return. Then the seller at the same time told Ebay that I didn't return it in the allowed time. Ebay denied the return until I called and proved to them that the seller blocked the return multiple times. Long story short I got a full refund and also got to keep the Huawei Mate 20 Lite for free.
Therefore, I can't really complain about the phone. Also, it just did finally get the Android Pie update and also an EMUI update. The phone has been great hardware wise. Battery lasts insanely long especially compared to my old One Plus 6. Camera is better as well. Actually everything seems better than the OP6, for less than half price.
The only issue I am having is that the phone has "Huawei ID" on it. I tried to setup an account but at the end of setup it says that it won't work in the USA. But, for every Google update, like Google Photos, it forces me to sign into Huawei ID before I can do any updates and it's impossible to sign into Huawei ID. I found a website that will remove Huawei ID after I buy "coins" from their website but they won't tell me how many coins I need. Seems shady. That is my only frustration with my free phone. I'll run it until it blows up since it was free.
IDK about ‘coins’ bit...that seems odd, but Huawei ID is essentially like having a Huawei account (Samsung and Apple have similar login systems). How is the camera? Are low-light photos any good (without OIS)? Technically the Mate 20 Lite has an inferior display and processor than the OP6, but nice to see you’re enjoying it
