I'm trying to enjoy a new launcher..

I had Nova for awhile and enjoyed the fact that I can export and import the layout so, it can be used on multiple devices but, then I recently discovered Yahoo Aviate Launcher. Aviate used to be a private company until Yahoo bought them out.

Aviate shows you the applications based on your location and what you are doing. There is some customization to what you can see and when. Nevertheless, its a simpler interface than TouchWiz and I think its better than Nova. Its also free.

I have six to eight of the most popular launchers on my Note 3, Nova Prime, Apex Pro. I always go back to Next Launcher 3D Shell. For me as a power business user I need the productivity of ToDo List, Calendar, other widgets, etc. that come with Next 3D Shell. Nova Prime, Apex and some of the others maybe better price performers but for customizing the maximum widgets and icons Next is just over the top for efficiency and they are updating with new features every month or two. Next is also extremely fast and always stable.

For day to day productivity of a power user and business professional Next is what I really use. That is just comparing 2D vs 2D, the 3D side of Next is another step in the UI world but it uses the same menu and navigation structure. Some of the 3D aficionados would not even consider a launcher with only a 2D side. If money is tight and you can live without some of the features, widgets, not interested in a 3D User Interface then Nova will probably be good enough, but............

Next 3D Shell is the Cadillac of Launchers right now and as you can see it comes with a Cadillac price but as a power user it is worth the extra money because I depend on the Calendar, ToDo List and other PIM widgets so much.

I use dodol launcher for 1 reason only; looping my home screen. TW does not offer the loop ability (why not?). So I have no choice but to use a launcher.

Two reasons (out of many other) I prefer nova over TouchWiz

For day to day productivity of a power user and business professional Next is what I really use.
I watched the demo video on Google Play and couldn't tell how it was more productive than Nova.

Next 3D Shell is the Cadillac of Launchers right now and as you can see it comes with a Cadillac price but as a power user it is worth the extra money because I depend on the Calendar, ToDo List and other PIM widgets so much.

Wow! $16.99! Yes, a Cadillac price to be sure. But, it must have some rabid fans such as yourself since it has a very high rating of 4.5 stars which is very difficult to get and maintain over 100,000 downloads.

Can you describe how the 3 widgets help you vs ordinary calendar/to-do/PIM widgets?

This only 2D vs 2D environment, for the $16.99 you also get the 3D side which is a whole leap in environment, with special 3D Themes, Live Wallpaper, Live/moving "Pets", etc. There may be some extra use on the battery but I don't notice any big difference as I also have a spare battery and charger so I always have fresh battery ready to swap out and go.

I tend to measure productivity of a launcher in terms of getting the maximum information with the fewest number of swipes or clicks. So I set up full screen widgets on 3 separate home screens for email, full month calendar and meetings. The full month calendar widget is from Next. You can swipe to different months right from the widget. Next also has a Side Slider bar to move from home screen to home screen, so you don't have to swipe past 4 plus screens to move to the farthest home screen. The Side Slider bar also has a pop up menu in it which can be very convenient. Next also has several pages of exclusive widgets which I find productive, unfortunately I am not able to take advantage of all the widgets because with the apps and folders I have set up and the 2 home screens for testing 9 home screens is not enough.

Another benefit is Next gives you 7 Dock Rows, Nova gives you 5 Dock Rows.

These are just a few of the extras you will find, for the difference in cost of $12.00 it is worth it for me since some of these extra conveniences I use many times a day. So that would be $1.00/month extra. I bought Next Launcher 3D Shell $16.99 way way back in 2012, they update it every few months with features and fixes have never spent any additional money, not even for paid themes. It has been well worth the extra $12.00 over the past 2-3 yrs. Your mileage may vary.

Next Launcher is nothing but awesome! I have been using it for a week now and can tell anyone that is by far the top tier of launchers.
