Android Central Question

Hi.
I've just bought a Sony Xperia L3 as a return to Android, love it.
Nova Launcher/Swiftkey/Yaata...just the job.

However, I also purchased a Micro SD Card with a view to saving all of my pics onto the SD Card instead of the internal memory.

When I inserted the card the only option presented to me was to format it as "Portable Storage."
I chose the option in the Camera Settings to store pics on the SD Card and thought, that was that.

However, I've noticed that checking Storage, the pics are being stored in both the internal memory AND on the the SD Card and if I delete from one, it also removes it from the other.

Could someone tell me what, if anything I've done wrong and how to fix it, because at the moment, there seems to be no point in having/using an SD Card, as "extra storage" if I'm also filling up the phones memory?

Many thanks.
Rich.

If you have the setting toggled on as shown, first clear the cache partition and reboot.
Download Data Size Explorer from the playstore. Run both internal and external. Confirm they are actually stored in 2 places.

@ methodman89....many thanks for responding to my question. Unfortunately, I'm not sure where to go in order to "clear the cache partition?" ;O)

Clearing out the cache partition is something everyone should know about. It is accessed differently on different phones. Google 'clear cache partition for a xxxx" phone and give it a try.

@methodman69. Thanks, once again. I tried your suggestion, but there were no instructions for the L3, although I did find instructions for the Xperia Z. I gave that a go, it seemed to reboot the phone ;O)
So far as I can see, the one pic I have on the device at the moment is in the Internal Storage and on the SD Card! :O)
I'll download Data Size Explorer and follow your suggestions. Thanks, once again.
