IMAP Mail Not Deleting Emails

Hello,

Ever since upgrading my Samsung S5 (Sprint) to lollipop, I can no longer delete emails on my mail accounts from the phone. This worked before the upgrade. Now, the swipe of the screen says "deleted", long pressing and checking the email and click delete looks like it works, too.

But, as soon as it syncs again, they show up again. The only way to delete them is to log in from my computer and delete them there.

There is no setting for an IMAP client remotely similar to "leave messsages on the server". So, that's not it.

Any ideas? Did lollipop break this? Seems like it.

Thanks,

Greg

That's the problem that caused me to stop using the Gmail app. Try K-9 Mail. I've been using it on 4 IMAP accounts for a few months, and never get those "ghost" emails.

Agreed. Try another email app. The Samsung app is giving a lot of users problems. There's plenty of good ones to choose from such as My Mail, Type Mail, Maildroid, K-9, Cloud Magic or my favorite, AquaMail, just to name a few.

MyMail was not for me but tried Type Mail and so far, so good!
