I suspect most N1 users use Gmail, but some of you must have IMAP accounts in addition.

I've found no way to move mail from one Imap folder to another. This seems like a basic feature for an IMAP mail client. (No, forwarding to Gmail is NOT an option). This is Issue Number 1128 over at the Android project on Code dot Google.

So, are there any good alternative IMAP/POP client applications anyone would care to recommend?

Any that do IMAP Idle?

I administer my own IMAP email server and I have been using K-9mail (free from the Marketplace) which is basically an upgraded version of the stock email application.

It supports moving between folders/syncing of folders and (drum roll please)IMAP_IDLE which I cannot be more happy about.

Thanks for that hint Dan.

K-9 is 500% better than the built in app. It works very well, even down to allowing you to PUSH individual folders in your IMAP structure. Its setup takes a tad of exploration for that level of control, but it worked right out of the gate for regular IMAP.

Word of caution to anyone stumbling on this thread while looking for an IMAP client on the Nexus One: If you have previously set up the build in Mail client go back and remove all setup info, and all data for the original mail client, because otherwise it launches each time you boot the phone and the two mail clients seem to get into contention, and your battery usage goes thru the roof.
