My kid has a Nexus 7 with 4.2.2 Google play 4.0.27. After upgrade to 4.2.2 it seems like Google play no longer uses a PIN but instead the regular account password.

When I login to purchase an app and then hand it back to my kid, Google play now stays open 30 minutes so he can buy anything he wants for 30 minutes!!!!! And there is no way to logout of the play store either!! From what I recall when the PIN method was used in 4.1 it required a PIN to be entered for every purchase, which was great!

Is there any way to make it work like before so a password or PIN is required for every purchase regardless of point in time?

It's the recent play store update that's brought this change. There is still a check box for requiring your password for purchases in the Play App's settings but PIN is gone. Fat lot of good that is to me with a password of random letters and numbers.

The thing that bothers me is that it does not ask for password for 30 minutes. Is there no way to require password for all purchases, even two consecutive ones?

I know this is an old thread, but has anyone found a way to solve this issue?
I purchase a game to my kid who does not read English, and have to worry 30 minutes that he won't buy accidentally something that the game offers.
