In Google Play, why is a new device showing up under my account that is not mine?

In Google Play, a new device is showing up under my account that is not mine.

When I go into Google Play on my computer, I then find the app I want to install. I click on the install button and in the device dropdown, there is a new tablet listed that is not mine. I went to the settings and I see that I can remove it from menus, but how did it even get associated with my google account and how do I get rid of it?

It was never yours and you never logged into your google account on it? No chance somebody borrowed your computer and it is logged into somebody else's Google Account? If there's no logical explanation in that vein, I would change my Google account password. If you are not already doing so, turn on two-step verification.
