Vivo phone screen problem

Not only is the LCD on the fritz, but hot black patches are present because of this problem. The phone's outer casing is damaged, revealing light from the phone's screen seeping out. This is my brother's phone, a Vivo.

Can it still be brought to the repair shop for a fix?

Which Vivo phone is this? What is the model number, and what version of Android is it running?

There's clearly hardware damage, which would require replacement of the display at the least. Any cellphone repair shop could probably handle it, but the main question will be if it's worth the cost of repair. In the meantime, make sure your brother has backed up or synced any important information, because the screen or phone could completely fail at any moment.
