Incoming call ringtone

How do you set a ringtone so that when the phone rings you know who's calling? Do you need to go to your contacts and change the setting in there?

Go to Contacts/ pick your contact right top corner you will see a pencil touch it scroll to ringtone pick one.

Go to Contacts/ pick your contact right top corner you will see a pencil touch it scroll to ringtone pick one.

I made the change in my contacts folder by adding the ringtone to the contact. And when that contact called, it did use the ringtone. However, all calls from anyone use the same ringtone. What did I do wrong?
