Inconsistent Data Connection

Im guessing maybe at&t did a upgrade to their towers here in central jersey. Now my phone is working good and I did speed test avg. 6mbs download and 1.8mbs upload. My inspire was never seeing sppeds anywhere close to that..
 
I am suffering from this problem. I am grandfathered in unlimited. The associate who sold me the phone picked up on the problem before I walked out of the store with the phone. First he tried a new sim, then a new phone. It appeared to be working ok when I left the store, but once I got home, I saw my network connectivity was and still is intermittent. I hope this is sorted soon. AT&T tech support was not able to get anywhere with the problem and said everything looks fine.
 
I just dropped in to the Skyrocket forums and they've got a thread going for the same problem. They're going just as batspit as we are. Looks like a network or ATT software settings problem for all of us, both Vivid and Skyrocket types. We gotta keep the pressure on ATT to fix this.
 
I live in an area currently only running HSPA+, but the coverage is pretty consistent all around. I'm not experiencing any issues with the browser, or the like. Even with 3, and sometimes fewer, bars I'm getting what I consider to be faaaaast data speeds. I'm getting 3-5 down, and 1-2 up, even in crummy areas. Maybe this really is an LTE-specific issue, and, especially considering Skyrocket users are having similar issues, that probably means it's just a bug with the network. Notice, we haven't heard mich from people within LTE covered areas that have been up and running since before these phones..
 
Could be completely irrelevant but im having intermittent connection issues with my ATRIX. The only ways I've been able to resolve it are the to cut off my radio signal via airplane mode or to reboot. Im thinking it might be related to dropping off HSPA+ and my phone not handling it well. I could be completely wrong and it be unrelated at all but I thought I would share just in case

No matter how many times i talk to at&t they act like this is the first they have heard of the problem.They will never be able to fix it at this rate since they dont belive a problem exist at all.

YUP! I called in this morning, they acting like they never heard it either, we all need to keep calling to get this issue in front of their face.

they told me to go in and swap the phone, but we all know that won't do anything.
 
I think they know about it but do not want any bad press for there shiny new LTE network. If we could get a Android Central writer(or any tech site) to confirm or write about this i bet it would be fixed ASAP!!!!! This shows poor testing on AT&T's part. Their demo phones in store do not work. 2 brand new devices and they can even suppot them properly or at least acknowledge they have a major issue.This is pitiful AT&T.
 
i am in Houston and have not had any data issues and i am on the grandfathered unlimited plan if that helps any and i have had my Vivid since launch day.
 
I too am having these data connectivity issues in NYC. Grandfathered unlimited plan and I was considering returning the phone but it sure doesn't seem like it's the phone's problem after reading this thread. I have major issues with the Facebook app, and sometimes the weather app tells me that my data connection dropped. It's very off and on. :(
 
Just went and swapped out for a new vivid and LTE sim card. Same problems. Me and the rep checked the 4 phones on display, 2 skyrockets and 2 vivids , all were showing the same problems.

I just ordered mine, so I'll be able to report on how it works in Connecticut. No LTE here, of course, but I'll be able to give useful data anyway.
 
i'm near Boston, so LTE is brand spankin' new, but seems to be decent. Honestly, i've been really busy at work lately and haven't had time to monitor my data connectivity since getting the phone, however, i'm actually noticing an issue with wi-fi when i'm at home. my modem and router seem to be stable, but the wi-fi keeps disconnecting and re-connecting. Every 60 seconds or so. REALLY annoying. Is anyone else experiencing this? i've rebooted of course as well as "forgotten" and re-entered the network info. all the basic stuff. no dice. it's bummin' me out, man!
 
I am in Haverhill MA near the NH border and the 4G network seems to be fast at 11000kbps. It does seem some websites hang for awhile. Also having issues getting some apps to download fully from the market. Otherwise I am loving this phone. Need to get a case though as it is slippery.

I popped in from the Skyrocket forum. Many Skyrocket owners are experiencing the same problems. I have had my Skyrocket since launch (unlimited data plan) and I am in the South Houston area. I only experienced this problem once when I went to the Med Ctr and the phone went from LTE to 4G. Problem followed me home until I reset the phone and also pulled the battery while checking to make sure I had a LTE sim card. Makes me wonder if the problem is with the towers.

I'm in the Houston area also and with the unlimited plans and like you have had no data issues. I came from the original Atrix and I have no issues at all with my SR.
 
If you are in a non LTE area (im in nyc) you have to go in and change your apn settings.. Did this on my skyrocket and the phone data works prefect.

I'm about to do this, but I am reluctant as I travel in and out of an LTE area for work. And I got this phone for it's LTE capability.
