Incorrect Bootup Language

After a recent OS update from Samsung the language on bootup changed from English to something I don't recognize. It's like that on the screen to enter my PIN then as the system comes up, "Starting Android" is in English and everything the rest of the way is normal.

Has anyone else seen this or know how to change the default boot up language?

Did you get the phone directly from a carrier or Samsung, or did you get it unlocked from a 3rd party seller? If the latter, I'd wonder if you have a variant that was intended for a different region of the world. What's the exact model number of the phone?
