Incorrect Email Password

Hello I am new to the forum as I am looking for some help to solve a problem that has occurred on my phone.

I have had a samsung galaxy s3 for about a week now, and everything has been working on it fine until today. Suddenly one of my email accounts decided that it had the wrong password (a University email address); I tried deleteing the address and re-adding but now it won't let me add it as it says that the address or password is incorrect.

Any ideas what the problem might be? As i know the password is right and really need this email address to work!

if your using the email app for this, contact your university's tech support you might need special setting depending on what the university is using. they should be able to walk you through it. Pain in the butt but it's fixable.
 
Hi, thanks for replying. I'm just using the email function that comes on the phone (not sure if that is the app you're referring to or not), it all worked fine all week up until this morning though. I was receiving emails through both my addresses and then the phone told me the password was wrong this morning, is that likely to be the Uni rather than the phone then?

Sounds a lot like the problem I am having. Was always able to read my email on my phone, now says there is a "connection problem" also tried re-entering email address and password and goes in circles and ends up back at the same screen I originally entered that information on. Was anyone able to help you with this problem?

I am getting exactly the same message every morning since about three days ago. At that point I cannot download mail. It offers to fix the problem but I reboot the phone (Google Nexus with latest Jelly Bean connected via wifi router) and everything works again.

It might be a temporary service outage at certain times (Google, my ADSL provider, my mail server, etc) or it's phishing.
