just picked up a used Droid Inc for my son because his BB Storm 2 was stolen and I wasn't going to pay the deductible to get another one, the Storm 2 just isnt worth it. I activated the phone on his line and everything seems to work just fine except it wont download from the Android Market. It downloads from the Amazon Market with no problems and I down loaded some new HTC widgets and watched some youtube so the 3G is working just fine. Anyone else have this happen? Ive already gone into the Market app and cleared the data and cache and it still doesnt work. Ive also read that a bad memory card could cause this but I down loaded Angry Birds from the Amazon Market and they saved to the card with no problem and are playable as are the mp3 albums that are on it. Ive pulled the battery twice and restarted the phone and it didnt help either.

Find alot of times when opening the android market place that it tends to load VERY SLOWLY. That's both on 3g and wifi, so I have a feeling that it's a server side issue. (With me any ways.)

Will the app just plain not open? Or is it just sitting there loading?

he's had a gmail account for a few years now and his emails are coming through just fine. As for whats happening is that you will start downloading something and the little symbol will appear in the upper left hand corner and then it will just go away, If your watch the download with the bar graph it will say download failed.

I tried the easy fix on Jerry's post and it didn't work. Did I mention that it wont download any apps and not just apps that go onto the memory card? Nothing will downolad. Ill try the hard way on Jerry's post later but I need to find a way to get a file manager installed first. I need to check Amazon and see if they have one I can download.

When you say he has had a gmail account for years, is there a chance you set it up initially for him? It you did is there a chance that there is some old blocks set up on the account that you don't even remember putting in place when you first opened it? I honestly don't know if there were/are options like that I guess check his dashboard and see what is there. But perhaps that could be an issue as well.

called Verizon this mourning and they had me do a complete reset of the phone erasing everything and putting it in a like new condition. It now works!! I don't really understand why this worked because the old owner , who works at a Verizon store, did the same thing before I left the store. I guess something reset wrong or some piece of software was bad.
