Hey folks,

So, in the past, VZW has been infamous for advertising GPS on their phones and then crippling them into aGPS only.

Thus, my question. Does the HTC Incredible for VZW have full-on, full-featured, pinpoint GPS, or is it aGPS (cell-tower triangulation) only? This is pretty much a deal breaker for me.

I've seen on VZW product info and on a few websites that it has regular GPS, but then I've seen other websites w/ hands-on reviews that say it's just aGPS.

Any confirmed info?

From what I've heard from others here, aGPS (or Assisted GPS) uses cell towers to first get a quick location fix, but then uses real GPS data for pinpoint accuracy. So it still has a real GPS sensor onboard.

There is no way it uses triangulation for the google maps navigation. I had it on my Droid and it was way too accurate.

The Incredible has both A-GPS and full GPS satellite capabilities. Verizon stopped crippling the full GPS functionality in smartphones ~ 1 year ago.
