Incredible HTC micro-USB TV-Out Cable

Yeah, I could not find this cable on the VZW site, you just have to call and tell them the model #: VZW6300TVOUT. That's the one that was announced in the launch package.

It says on the VZW website that the cable listed @ $19.99 is not compatible with the Incredible...when those of you that ordered it, get it, please report in.

Thanks,

JC

Obviously by looking at my Pic (Taken with my wife's Incredible) you can see it works fine, even in my truck. Check out my review on the previous page in this thread.

Thanks for the heads up. Didn't see it listed anywhere on the Verizon Wireless website either. However I called their consumer sales number @ (800) 256-4646 as listed the website. The girl wasn't aware of the product until I mentioned the model number.

Product listed at $19.99, she offered me a discount at $14.99.

Shipping is free, FedEx 2 day, signature needed (or signed note on door).

You also can order a second accessory at up to 50% off, so I got a pack of screen protectors for $6.74, bringing my total to $23.79.

I've always been pleased with Verizon's sales and customer service, I'm certainly going to be staying with them for a very long time.

Edit: Spell check, and I like the setup in your truck, bigslam123!

Has anyone else found unique uses for the cable?

If there were some way to connect a Wii Remote to the Inc via bluetooth, it would be pretty cool to use it for games, such as SNesoid. There are apps out there to connect Wii Remotes, but they unfortunately don't work for most HTC phones.

That was like pulling teeth...I had to convince the operator to enter in the above model #. Finally did and found that (surprise, surprise) it does exist, but they would not give me my 25% Corporate discount that I get on accessories...

What has been the experience for those of you who ordered the cable from Verizon? Does it work? Is it the same cable as the one offered from htcpedia?

Yes, it is the same cable/model number. I believe VZW is offering it at a lower price though.

TV out cable

Received my cable yesterday from HTCPedia shop. So simple. Just plug it in, an app comes up and you select a format and assuming you've set your tv or DVD input correctly, everything displayed on the phone screen is then displayed on the tv. Wish the cable was longer. To do pictures, it's best to set up a slide show and put the phone down near the tv.

My mistake. At first, I didn't notice that htcpedia has Verizon's product number on their website. Just ordered mine over the phone for $15.89 (25% discount). :D

That's a BEEFY looking cable. I'd prefer a HDMI or Component/VGA output cable that keeps the signal quality high but this should be good enough for some outdoor fun with a pocket projector. Check out this guy with an AAXA M1+ pulling a 100"+ screen at night on battery power.

My last test was using the cable with my Cinemin Pico projector. I hooked it up and projected the phone's image on a wall. This gave me approx. a 50" image that again worked perfectly.

The phone/cable is great for the entertainment features but where it really shines is when using it for document presentations. The text was surprisingly clear and easy to read. This also made internet viewing a pleasurable experience.

I'm thinking of getting one of these mini-projectors is it the one to buy?

IT is great for what it is. It is ultra portable, about the same size as your phone, and it works great. It is only 11 lumens so you need to use it in a room with little to no light. Also, it isn't sharp enough for presentations that involve text. If you want something that is ultra portable, has a good battery life, to project videos, then this is perfect. there are others out there with a stronger bulb. I adevise shopping around to find one that is right for you. It just happened that this one was right for me, thanks in part to its swivel design that lets you angle it.

This cable is not much different in thickness to your standard composite A/V cables, as what this is. It has a micro USB port at the end so you can still charge your phone while using it. It's only about 5 feet in length however, so you might have to get a 6 foot A/V cable and some male-to-male inline connectors to extend it (which total about the same $16 as the TV out cable), if you plan on holding the Incredible in hand while watching TV.

I have a standard TV so I can't really speak much about quality, but YouTube videos look alright, and Super Mario Bros with Nesoid has become hella-fun!

The newer pico projectors out now from AAXA and Optoma are much brighter than the first-gen units like the Cinemin. Pricing is not much higher so I'd definitely recommend taking a look at them before making a decision.

has anyone tried using the cable with the incredible on CM6? im thinking that it doesnt support it. im attempting to use it in combo with NESOID and Wiimote to play some old school NES games on my tv, but when i plugged it in to my tv, the video did not come up.

any thoughts?

If it works with CM6, then I'm sold! Considering the Wiimote doesn't work with any Sense based ROMs and that it's compatible with ASOP roms only AFAIK, it would be a winner!
