Wondering how everyone else is loving their Rezound so far? So glad I traded the crappy LG Spectrum in and got the Rezound. I've got three charge cycles on the battery and the life is INCREDIBLE. (I always take a new battery below 5% then charge it to 100%) So far, after 10 hours of pretty good use, I still have 40% battery and that's playing music, watching videos I have loaded on the phone, checking emails, Go SMS with my fiance', etc. I got the extended battery with cover from Verizon for $29.99 and am REALLY looking forward to seeing how it performs.

My fiance' got the Rezound too and looks like her dad is going to pick one up as well. What an awesome phone!

No complaints except for the ICS delay. They said 1st quarter and there is no word as to when that will happen. Otherwise the Rezound is, in my opinion, the best Verizon has in their line up.

If you are that impressed w/ the standard battery. You'll have a stroke w/ the extended battery. At least, you'll die with a. :) on your face.

I'm hoping. I'm on the first full charge cycle with the extended battery. Listened to music for a few hours while working on my truck, used the GPS about 40 min while running some errands. Answered work emails. Standard silly texts with the fiance'. Gaming, etc. So far, battery widget says 55% and I was off the charger around 7am. I bet after it gets a few charge cycles in it, it will be BEASTLY!

I don't see how anyone is getting good battery life out of the Rezound. I barely used mine tonight at work and had to charge it THREE times!!! It has dropped 20% in the last 30 minutes while riding in my pocket. I have Juice Defender going when at work.

I really like Android over iOS for the customization that is possible, but my iPhone 4 got sooooo much better battery life at work.

I am 8 days into my 14 to send it back. Seriously considering sending it back. Tonight at work, after a 10 minute conversation with my wife, the phone was so hot I couldn't hardly stand to hold it.

Love the phone, but not sure it is going to work for me...

First, get rid of jD, while it may seem like it is helping, it's really a stalemate. Running JD gives you a comfort level that really isn't practical, imo. JD is not doing you much good besides adding uneeded extra features that do manage certain features, but eats your battery juice up in the process. Read the entire linked thread below or skip to #17. TwoLastNames gives an accurate analysis of the situation. Get rid of JD and trust in the OS to manage consumption rates. All you need to do is read through threads and collect tips on battery management. No matter what you do a 4g device will not beat any 3g only device in terms of battery life. That's just the nature of LTE radios at present. The best battery saving option available is to root, so you have some measure of control over the needless apps that run w/out your installation and consent. Doing that and setting up your phones battery saving features correctly, is the ideal way to manage power consumption in Android.

My suggestion is to get another one because what you are describing is not normal.

I get 16+ hour days out of my rezound with moderate use. Do you leave stupid things on all the time like GPS and WiFi and have your screen on 100% brightness? These will kill it in a heartbeat. I also agree about juice defender. Get rid of it. Also look ant your usage and make sure there is not an app running you dry.

What you are describing is not normal. Get a replacement phone. I had 2 retail box replacements under my 90 day return policy because I bought it for $50 on upgrade in November.

I learned power usage with my 2 years with the Incredible. I understand 4G is going to use more battery but as I said before with my Incredible in that forum, if I can't use the phone like I want without all kinds of compromises, then I will dump the phone. I mainly made the jump back to Android for the 4G, because the 3G speeds around here are pathetic.

I did the extended battery thing with my Incredible and it wasn't too big, but this Rezound is already a big phone and I don't want it any bigger. I need to decide if I wanbt to carry around a few spare batteries so I can actually use the phone like I want or dump it and go back to my iphone. Don't get me wrong, I am an Android fan, but iphone can go all night at work with heavy use and not require a charge. That's with everything on (wifi, bluetooth, full brightness...).

It's a lost cause if you expect satisfactory results on the standard battery w/out cutting some corners.

Just use switch wigets. You don't need Bluetooth all the time or Mobil data when WiFi is available do you? Tap on tap off.

You are the first person I have ever heard getting that kind of battery out of an iPhone, but ya know. Try another phone or go back. Whatever makes you happy.

I get 16+ hours of use(not talking putting the thing down for the night) with 4g 50%+ brightness and little WiFi GPS and Bluetooth.

It heating up is not normal. Get a replacement and see what that changes if you want to try further.

Here is a good example of what I am getting....

I rolled out of bed at 100% battery, took it off the charger and spent less than 10 minutes checking email and catching up on a few turns of Dice with Buddies. Battery dropped to 92% that quickly.

Came out in front room to watch the Daytona 200, set phone down and watched the race. Two hours later I pick the phone up and now down to 82%. few more email checks and turns of Dice and now down to 75%...

Using wifi. Bluetooth off. Screen brightness as low as I can still see.

Don't get me wrong, I really like the phone and want to keep it. Android does so much more of what I want, but I had to run a 3500mah battery in my Incredible to get same usage of stock battery in my iphone 4. I really dont want to do the big battery thing on this Rezound as it is already too big. I might grab a pair of Mugen batteries for us with stock battery cover for the week and grab the HTC 2750 set up for those times I know I will be away from the charger for long periods of time.

Well first thing is that when the phone charges it will go up to 100% and then let to trickle down a bit to keep from ruining your battery. So it dropping rapidly to 90% or so is normal because the phone more or less lies to you about the charge actually is. There are several articles about this if you want to understand it better.

That is a little rapid though. At what percent do you usually let the phone get to before outing it on a charger?

This is a typical day for me. I think I was at about 30% at this point:

Phone setting here asleep, using wifi. Woke phone up, battery at 40%. Looked thru a few apps, played one round of Words with friends and sent one text message, total time awake maybe 2 minutes. Battery dropped to 36% in two minutes and starting to feel a bit warm (not hot) on the back.

I think I will send this one back. Maybe try again another time. I have a school trip with my 10 yr old to Washington DC coming up in 2 weeks and I need a phone I can trust and will keep a decent charge. I really like the concept of the Rezound and LOVE the 4G speed but what good is it if I don't have the battery power to use it?

I'll call VZW and see if they can send me another but me not be committed to contract yet. Go from there. I have 6 days left of my 14 since getting the phone.

That's what I would recommend. That usage does not sound right

Already re activated my iPhone and wiped the Rezound. Will ship it back Monday. I will call. VZW tomorrow and see what they say.

Thanks for all the help , but I think I got a bad phone. This is a first for me, never have gotten a bad phone before.

LOL, call me pathetic but I miss the Rezound already. I pulled it back out of the box anbd have it on the charger. Will give it a full charge overnight (with phone off) and tomorrow I am going to try it again. Maybe the hard reset will have helped, LOL. Also, going to add very few apps at a time and see how battery usage goes. Maybe I will stumble across one or more that were causing me problems.

If I don't see an improvement by Tuesday, it will get shipped back. Wish me luck!

Can you redo a screenshot of your usage results while on a fresh cycle, from boot up., tomorrow? Your 9hr awake time doesn't seem to coincide with a single charge cycle. If your battery is eating up juice in a flash on the standard size battery I would expect to see a much smaller timeframe.

That was a real pain. I had to go to a Verizon store and get a new sim card to get the Rezound back in operation. Apparently when reverting back to the iPhone it caused the sim to be "retired".
