Incredible with Froyo

I'm going back to 2.1...this is just too buggy and I never had any issues with 2.1

Mind giving me the instuctions you are following to go back?

I'm a bit confused here; I know the leaked OTA updates the radio. Does that mean we can't go back to stock 2.1 with the radio 2+? Or does it mean that we have to downgrade the radio?

Sorry, just a bit confused on this one. My area of expertise isn't with the radio.

my understanding was u update the radio there isnt any going back to 2.1 unrooted

I don't remember where but I know there are instructions on xda for going back to stock after the 720p/radio leak. They came out a little after the leak but before the froyo leak.

Sorry I couldn't be more specific.

That's fine. If we need them, I'm sure theyll surface soon after the demand arises.

I'm sticking with Froyo, though. Working great for me.

Well I don't know what I did, but I did a nandroid restore of my 2.1 backup with the updated radio and everything worked ok. That was by accident though and I quickly chose the right backup of 2.2 and restored. Take that for what its worth, lol.

Ok that didn't work it said update fail and I can't go into recovery its a step I'm missing

Took me WAY too long to figure this out but to select things in HBOOT, you press the optical button not the power button. The power button will take you back a screen though.

Hope this helps a bit too.

Ok when it first comes on o try to click but it automatically goes to SD checking then it says main version is older update fail do you want to reload or reboot device o choose no and then try to click recovery and nothing happens. Did I miss a step?

The SD check happens with the stock HBOOT but I don't remember seeing it with unrevoked. Think of unrevoked as an HBOOT replacement but it only replaces HBOOT when unrevoked is launched after that you're back to the stock HBOOT. So each time you want to load a new ROM you need to run unrevoked.

I don't think you can go back beyond the 2.x radio (dinc__ota.zip). Your next step is to go through the root process with the Unrevoked Froyo update or just leave the updated radio and not root.

Since you have the new radio (double check in your Settings as stated), the unrevoked/root process is very easy as unrevoked does all the work. However, you need the Froyo update on your sdcard and will select it with the unrevoked boot menu which may be where you are getting lost. You can leave the Froyo filename just as it was when you downloaded it and you DO NOT have to wipe ANYTHING (which will keep all your data, apps & settings etc). I do suggest that once you first are running unrevoked, that you select nandroid (volume up or down to highlight it & press the optical button to select) and do a nandroid backup before applying the Froyo update (it's always good to do backups). Then hit the power key once to back out of the nandroid menu and install Froyo. To install Froyo you'll need to select a menu item that I can't think of right now (maybe Advanced) and from there you'll see all the directories & files on your sdcard. This is where you select the Froyo .zip file. After that, you're done & will have root & Froyo. =)

REMEMBER: Do not install the din__ota.zip more than once!

I'm loving this screen shot app now that I'm rooted how is this not an official app from Google

Sadly, this is why I'm waiting until HTC cleans up this release so they can release a final. I'm convinced that the current leak with the 0-Gmail problem and all the other bugs that many people are experiencing is NOT final.

I'm sure it isn't. In fact, I think it's probably more of an unofficial beta, maybe to fix bugs and issues that the tech community finds in the leak.

My Inc has been running great with the leaked Froyo, although I have had a couple of small issues. No deal breakers though.

1. Root apps keep asking for root permissions even after I have given it. (titanium specifically)
2. A few more FCs than usual, mainly seesmic, but I just moved over to another twitter client for now. I really do like the full screen widget for the built in twitter client.

I did install the patch for missing market apps and the gmail 0 problem and those two issues are gone.

Overall, better performance, and better battery life without having to bump charge, although charging is taking longer.

And one more bigger issue I am having, when I plug in to charge (charge only on pc) or to my car charger, it seems to make my sd card unavailable. apps, such as listen, will give me "sd card not installed" errors and will not work unless unplugged.

My only issue is Slacker radio sounds like crap! Other than that, everything else is just how I want it.

Unrevoked 3

I have updated the radio, then installed unrevoked 3 plug my phone in and its just saying "pushing recovery image" and it has been for awhile, how long does this part take or am i doing something wrong.

I have seen 2 threads on XDA but they both end up breaking something or another. I will deal with it now until there is a more solid fix. Thanks for the suggestion tho.
