I think we all agree that the LED sucks, but for the first several months I had the phone (got right after launch in April) I could see it just fine. It didn't get your attention if it was just in your peripheral vision, but if you were looking in the general direction of the phone, you could see.

But lately I can barely see the LED in low light, say just a floor lamp in the living room. In that situation I can see it, but it's faint. It's extremely difficult to see it at an angle.

It brighter situations such as my lab at work with overhead fluorescent lighting, I can't see it at all even if I bring it up to my eyes.

Has this happened to anyone else with a phone of similar age? Sadly I can't really pinpoint when it got to the level where it's useless. Did the 4.3 update have something to do with it?

After 4.3 update my notification led stopped working at all, the power led works, Red when on charge and the green led works to indicate full charged but no notifications (green flashing) this was caused by the 4.3 update. Thanks HTC!

I'm on 4.3 and my LED notifications are working just fine. Just as bright as before I upgraded to 4.3. Maybe you have a broken phone?

Did you go into the notification settings to make sure the "blink LED for notifications" was/is turned on?

It could be that maybe some dust has gotten in there. Take a can of compressed air and blow it out to see if that helps.
