Back when this thread started I had the same issue everyone else was having. Since then I have ignored vudu and just used other apps instead.

About a month or so ago I checked to see if there was any update and I am now able to watch and dl with vudu on my Verizon g3. Problem solved for me. I hope you all have the same luck

Your phone must have flash player installed first down load the latest version you can find on adobe com older versions flash player for android. once installed vudu will download and work.
