I currently have an iPhone 4 and am a long time iPhone user. As much as a love iOS and the phone, I think it's time for a change. I've been doing a lot of research and am pretty much set on getting the Samsung Infuse 4G but I would like some input from current users. How is the phone overall, good/bad? If there are any former iPhone 4 users, how do you guys like it?
Also, I have read in several places that often times the Infuse has a charging problem. It won't charge via the wall, car, or usb chargers. I also heard that it takes an extremely long time (6 hours??) to charge fully.
Are these issues true/common or am I just paranoid?

Thanks in advance!

Just wait and go with the Galaxy S II if you really want an Android on AT&T, unless price is the issue. The Galaxy S II comes running Gingerbread, the Infuse is running Froyo with no definitive date for an upgrade to Gingerbread. GSII is dual core, Infuse is single core, GSII is a flagship phone, Infuse is not. Compare the two and you will see that the GSII is the one to go with.
To answer your question about charging, yes it takes the Infuse a crazy long time to charge.

I came from an iPhone 3G and have been a long time Apple user. Nevertheless, I don't miss the iPhone or iOS a bit at all. I'm very happy with the Infuse and have not had problems with it at all. Froyo or Gingerbread, it doesn't matter to me. It's my first Android device, anyway. AT&T should have Gingerbread on the Infuse some time this year (no set date yet). What I love best about the Infuse is the customization without the control (as Apple does for iPhones). The charging problems I have not experienced at all. I generally charge my phone overnight, so I don't really know how long it takes to charge it.

I would agree with previous post. The phone is great. I have not had the charging problems as others have mentioned. But I have noticed that battery life can be an issue. I have resolved that by buying a spare battery, which of course you cannot do with the Iphone.

The size of the phone is worth mentioning. It is one of the best features of the phone, but can be at times a bit bulky, depending on whether you put a protective case on it. Again, I love the larger screen, but something to consider coming from an Iphone.

Customization is great, and the Android market has all the essential apps that I need.

Most people don't even know the features that are in the Gingerbread release, and it is coming, so that is not a concern for me.

Alright, thanks for the responses guys. I think overall I've heard a lot more good than bad for the Infuse and will probably get it soon. I'll definitely be visiting here often to learn everything Android.

I switched and couldn't be happier. I've owned it about 2 months and this thing is sick. Literally runs circles around the iPhone.

Agreed, these new batch of Android phones are exponentially improved. Buy a new Android phone now or within the next couple months. You will be impressed.

I don't have an Infuse but I do have a Nexus S and an iPhone 4. Android has a lot more features within the software and hardware. The voice commands and voice to text are beyond anything I have ever used or seen on other platforms. Samsung's screens are killer and at 4.5 inches, I could only assume that watching videos, reading ebooks, web browsing, etc is awesome. But there are some things that you will miss about IOS. The battery life on the iPhone is far superior. Gaming, video playback, and smoothness of pinch to zoom and panning in the web browser are better on the iPhone. Games that I have played on my iPhone are far better than those same games on Android. The iPhone also has a build quality that is unmatched. So if you want the bigger screen, robust feature set, customization, seamless Google integration, and flash in the browser, I would go with the Infuse. If you like the iTunes ecosystem, unmatched build quality, great camera, smoother operating system, better gaming experience, higher quality apps, and overall less problems, I would stick with the iPhone 4.

I switched from an iPhone 4 to the Infuse several months ago. I've had iPhones since 1G. Great move, love the phone, and would never go back to iOS. I don't have the battery issues others have reported, but I'm not a mega user.

How does the battery life compare to the iPhone in your opinion? I have been getting a day and a half from my iPhone 4 which is just awesome to me.

I am using the infuse with the infused 2.3.3 ROM and have been wondering on options on making my battery life last a little longer. If anyone has any options then please let me know

I'm a huge fan of Samsung, and the Infuse in general. I've never had an iPhone (nor any other Apple product for that matter), but I have played with the iPhone 3GS and 4G, and the 2 are incomparable.

Me and my wife just had our infuse for a month now,,coming from Iphone 3g
1. My wife had to get her infuse replaced from costco because it got hot and wont boot (lemon they say)
Mine works pretty good so far.
2. Mine rebooted by itself a few time for some odd reason.
3. Battery doesnt last that long as you know that already and it takes awhile to charge vs iphone.
4. Love the screen super sharp
5. Love the free apps and free themes and no need to JB like iphone.
6. I like how you can upgrade the external mini sd card mine got 16g now.
7. I like how you can drag and drop files AVIs MP3s etc...no need to sync like iphone.
8. Plays flash videos as you know that already.
9. Wifi signal is weak, but theres going to be a gingerbread upgrade coming soon to fix that problem and then some. But my internet browser is wayyyyyyy faster than my iphone.
Theres more pros and cons ,but i think I have more fun using this phone than my old iphone. Thats just my opinion and Im still trying to find and figure out things. This is the best website to get info, people are very helpful. :)

I have an extended 3500mAh battery. It easily gets me 3+ days and only takes 4hrs to fully charge. Love the Infuse!
