I'm getting a green wash when I turn on HDR in instagram, whats up with that? Anyone else?

Just a quick check though, how did you get your Android 4.3 update? I got mine via "force-close+clear data" on Google Service Framework to force an OTA update. I'm wondering if it's 4.3 that's causing the problem or if clearing Google Service Framework that caused this mess (though highly unlikely, better to cover all bases).

Well, hope Instagram or Google fixes the problem whichever the end its coming from.

Btw I normally use the stock Android camera app to photograph, then share it onto instagram, hence never experienced focusing or image orientation issues.

The camera app for 4.3 seems to load slower than before though.

Same issue here with a neon green wash across photos when using the lux option, I've filed a bug report with Instagram but they are not known for their responsiveness.

Seems some Galaxy owners have experienced something very similar (with earlier android versions) and there are report that turning off the two 'advanced features' worked for them, didn't work for me though (Nexus 4 / 4.3). I've tried all the usual (uninstall etc) and also have reproduced the same problem using photos not taken on my phone so it seems to be IG specific rather than an artifact of changes to the camera.
