Anyone else using IG notice their photos look pixelated once upload is finished?, when you edit the photo in the app it looks nice and sharp, but the moment u upload it, the photo quality degrades. This doesnt seem to be the case on the HTC one X or iphone / ipad.

It looks pixelated when you crop the picture but once it actually uploads it looks just as good. Well for me it is

Yea I know its pixelated during crop but once it uploads its not at sharp as when deciding between normal or filters. I used the same pics on two phones, S3 always uploads at lower quality. :( I guess its related to the known issue with other samsung phones.

What issue? I thought the pictures weren't as sharp because my screen protector is matte... which I'm planning to change soon

Here's what Vengeful is talking about. I'm having the same problem as well on my GS4.
You can notice a big difference in sharpness/smoothness of lines.

The first picture is what it looks like pre-upload.
The second picture is what it looks like post-upload when its on my Instagram.

Sorry for the size.

But you see what I mean? Quite disappointing.

Could instagram be compressing photos?

That's what I'm guessing. I unchecked the "Use high-quality image processing" feature. Hopefully that'll take care of the problem. I'll let you guys know if so.
