Instagram/Snapchat won't refresh/load on WiFi connection

So this just started happening about a week ago and its really annoying! My instagram and snapchat will not refresh or load at all enless I turn off my wifi and use my data. I've tryed restarting my phone and resetting it by taking out the battery and stuff but nothing works.

So to make it clear the apps work while using Data but does not work when Im using my WiFi. And just last week I could use my WiFi for the apps and now i cant. I haven't updated my phone at all since then either.

I really have no clue what to do and I would appreciate any help! Thanks

Ok I dont think my last reply went through. So I said in the last message that I have yet to try any other wi-fi networks other than my own home wi-fi. So to answer your question, it is just my home one that is the problem.

I have the same problem so does my brother. gmail won't update or give me notifications, Snapchat won't connect to server or give me notifications, and netflix won't connect also. I have a note 3 and have tested it on multiple wi fi's (school,work,home) however all these apps work when I am on 4g network.

Edit: right when I was typing this gmail updated, netflix/snapchat still does not work.

I am having the same issue and the answers is yes, it works on WiFi but my own house's.

same issue, it works with every other wifi i connect to but not with my home wifi :/

I found the fix it worls for me try installing an app dns changer from playstore and select 1st dns server as google 8.8.8.8 and 2nd as google 8.8.8.4

Okay so, you were right in the sense that the app worked however, is there a way to permanently configure my DNS settings in this way? I don't particularly want to be running a VPN on my phone just so I can use WhatsApp and Snapchat. Thanks

Noticing IG seems to be playing with pinning my last post and having to pull down to refresh use to work.

So I feel it is more about IG. What I do sometimes is turn wifi off/on, ot go in and delete the storage cache in the app. - Use to do that with Twitter too btw.

Clearing my cached data just doesn't seem to work. It's clearly an issue with my WiFi connection, because everything works fine whilst connected to a VPN.

Hey, may be you check the wifi router you are using at home. Secondly, a friend of mine was facing a similar issue, it was that snapchat or instagram did not refresh at all on mobile data or even wifi be it home or public. She got her phone software refreshed which then enabled her to use all apps quite conveniently.
