Installed CM6, all fine but app's won't download??

Thanks, I'll give that a shot this weekend. Does smartass require changing around a lot of settings? If so, probably not interested. I was getting satisfactory battery life with the Hey Its Lou Kernel #8 (using Senseless Revolution), but obviously can't use that here. I'm liking AOSP a lot.

Absolutely not. Just go into your CyanogenMod settings, go into Performance, and then under the CPU settings just set your governor to smartass. This can also be done with SetCPU if you prefer that app.

If you are currently using the stock kernel, try this one; 2.6.37-nodebug-havs-smartass-signed.zip

I have been using this kernel for the past few days and have been getting insane battery life, using the smartass governor, of course.

I've had CM7 nightly #31 running for a few days now with the slayher kernel crondable recommended earlier in this thread and I too am getting INSANE battery life!

I have not set my governor to smartass - I'll give that a try too!

CM7 nightly #31 with the slayher kernel is the smoothest ROM I have ever run and the battery life blows away anything I have ever seen!

This it truly a home run on my Inc. Do not hesitate to give this setup a try!!

So one more question, does upgrading the different nightlies require a complete wipe/reflash? I don't think I have the patience to do that after just doing a full wipe a couple days ago. Kernel I can handle!

I have always been fine with merely wiping cache and Dalvik cache in recovery between nightlies. However, if you run into any issues, a full wipe and reflash is recommended.

Just so you guys know, I am working on the OP for the CM7 nightlies thread, I'm almost done, I just want to really make sure its a one stop shop for any questions or links people might need. If you guys know of anything in particular I should include please let me know :)

Thanks... that's a good thing to include in your post.

Also, I'd suggest clear instructions on upgrading the HBoot and Radio.

oh great, I installed that Kernel, and now my phone is resetting every few minutes. How do I go back? Or should I try a different Kernel? I wiped the Dalvik cache prior to flashing.

Id try a different kernal first to see if that fixed it . Just wipe Dalvik cache when you change your kernal as well.

Anyone tried #32 yet ? I was thinking about trying it(tonight) and the 2.6.37-nodebug-havs-smartass kernel

Did some research and apparently there's a bug with the kernel so that if wifi goes yo sleep with the screen off the phone resets. Since I want wifi NOT to sleep anyway, simple solution to turn that off. Seems stable now, and battery life definitely better!

I will add both the proper wipe instructions, and the kernel wi-fi bug into the OP. Sorry it is taking me a while, work is on my ass:( I'm hoping to have it cleaned up and finished tomorrow though!
