installing android nougat on huawei enjoy 7 plus

I recently got a Huawei enjoy 7 plus from china. It has a chinese os (EMUI 5.1) on it even though the international version has android nougat on it.

Is there any way I can root the phone and install android nougat on it?

Welcome to Android Central! EMUI is the Huawei user interface, not the OS. It most likely still has Android -- go to Settings>About Phone to find out.
