Instant Music when putting in my earbud jack

1. Probably missed something somewhere but whenever I plug in my earphones the music player and my mp3's start playing. I can't explain it and I can't seem to turn it off without rebooting. What's up?
2. How do you get shuffle to work on the stock music player?

I don't know, I use PowerAmp and that's a feature it has you can enable. It starts playing when you plug in, and pauses when you pull out (heh). I don't even have the stock player anymore, as I'm on GummyCharged, so I can't tell you. But I can promise you that if you get PowerAmp you won't ever look back.

On Poweramp, you can go into settings and toggle this 'feature' off. I assume there's a similar setting in whichever music program you are utilizing.
