Instant tethering and Smart Lock

Anyone else having issues with these two features? I have a Pixel 2 XL and the Pixelbook, and I've enabled both. Instant tethering can take quite a while to decide to connect, if it decides at all - more often than not I seem to have to connect manually to my hotspot.

Smart lock is also often a pain - it doesn't always find my phone so I have to enter my password. Sometimes a restart of the Pixelbook is needed, or the phone, or sometimes it'll just work the next time the Pixelbook locks itself.

Both features work for me but aren't the quickest. Most often I just type my password which seems to be faster option and with tethering I manual connect on the Pixelbook. I'm hoping this is something that will get better with some updates.

I always had trouble with the tethering, but the smart lock worked pretty good for me as long the phone was right next to the Pixelbook

Just discovered you change the sensitivity on smart lock. It works a lot better now.

Tap the clock bar in the bottom right corner > tap the Gear icon > scroll down to People > Screen lock
